Re: Liberty Mystic on M&P 9mm
Use 147 gr federal, or 147 gr canned heat for plinking and winchester HP bonded (for HD) Your booster and pistol need to wear in some. Also, 147 gr at 950-975 fps. Will help. I found unique to be ok at 4 gr with Berrys plated bullets, also 3.7 gr Win 231 .. the unique has less chamber pressure. The ...

Re: Subsonic .357 MAXIMUM loads to suggest as a starting poi
Thanks. I'll see if I can work up a load that groups decently with my Hunter 247gr cast in the mgm 1:14 I already have as a first choice then the Hunter 190's if those don't workout. Thanks. Make sure you check for stability after working up the load to the 950-975 fps target. The 190 gr could be f...

Re: Subsonic .357 MAXIMUM loads to suggest as a starting poi
I do not have any subsonic 180 cast loads. Its mostly speculation, but trail boss st 10% less than the base of the bullet as a start. Then work down. Or 5-6 gr of Unique. No published subsonic 180 loads that I could find. I use 180 for super. 210-248 gr for subs... or in the 1:12 the 300 gr. America...

Re: Subsonic .357 MAXIMUM loads to suggest as a starting poi
38 spl in a factory chamber will have a massive jump. I used mag brass for a bit, but find the max brass is the way to go, at least if you seat the bullet way out in mag brass the jump is not as bad as short 38 spl factory loads. It will ring the chamber and will mark the Max brass at that spot ... ...

Re: Subsonic .357 MAXIMUM loads to suggest as a starting poi
My MGM barrel is a 1:12 NOT a 1:14. The TC factory barrel is a 1:14. I find the 10" 1:14 factory barrel is a problem, the 14" is ok but marginal with 300 gr... the 1:12 MGM shoots heavy bullets well.. 248 gr hunter cast with GC in the 1:14 14" are ok. I got a baffle strike with the 1:...

Re: louder in cold weather ?
Note the speed of sound at zero deg F is 1050.. but thats loud more than trans sonic.. 125 fps less than the speed of sound is the best goal .. even 925 fps at zero is a bit loud but ok.. so at 75 deg f 1133 = speed of sound. Subtract 125 = 1008 fps... good goal but i find 975 at 75 deg f is quieter...

Re: Liberty mystic+ruger 77/357 = 300 black killer
My SBR form 1 is approved.. and my MGM 1:12 fast twist barrel is in.. shoots my 300 gr bullets like a dream! No leading with gc now that i don't have that POS T/C freebore chamber. I sent MGM a dummy 300 gr round to cut the chamber to. Just right. :-) My 230 gr Thunderhead loads go super with the 2&...

Re: interested in a big bore subsonic rifle
I thought gas checks were a no no with silencers because they can come off in the can and tear stuff up? You guys are getting along OK with them? I found a 850 grn mold group buy on the Cast Boolit forum....still have the option to get it with gas checks if it isn't going to cause problems.....I wo...

Re: interested in a big bore subsonic rifle
The use of the GC will reduce lead build up in your silencer. I put them on my 247 gr and 300 gr 358 cal lead bullets at 1000-1040 fps . The difference is remarkable. 14” TC with Mystic silencer. 357 MAX, Very accurate and a good payload. Backwards bullets in subs have better soft tissue results, bu...

Re: AAC Prodigy...
My Gen 3 Prodigy just took 2 tree rats in 2 shots at 50-65 yards (one shot each) with my CZ.. Gen-III Prodigy is my CZ rifle silencer of choice. The accuracy improvement of the latest core is insanely better. I hope AAC obsoletes the gen-II. The Gen-III is so much better, in so many ways.

Re: Remington LTR 308 1-12 Twist Advice on Subsonic Bullet
my 152 gr M2 ball and 190 lead spire point bullets both with about 5 gr of American Select when shot in my PSA 16" upper will only move the bolt about 1/2" back .. not sure if it goes far enough back to open the action much.. Maybe enough to rotate the bolt and possibly move the bolt (not ...

Re: Remington LTR 308 1-12 Twist Advice on Subsonic Bullet
I settled with the 150 30-30 bullets with my 1-12. Just got my 300 blk out. Upper so i'll save the heavy stuff for it.. 300 blk-out is nice and those 220subs. Hit like a brick and supper quite suppressed. Yes.. I have an upper and a bolt gun.. If you want real QUIET try using unique or 231, and loa...

Re: Savage Cancels 300 AAC Blackout
This is why we had light primer strikes. The brass should be flush.. Not 0.024" under spec. http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd334/JohnInNH/AAC%20300%20BLK/IMG_2962a.jpg The factory Rem Primed Brass looks to have has a bad batch with all under spec, a few this bad, but most at 0.012" or ...

Re: Silencer for 77/357
The 357 has so much potential why not get a silencer that can handle all of that' AND be super quiet. The Mystic just is the best 357 silencer as of now. I also get very good accuracy with it as well. I just cleaned it again after shooting a bunch of lead bullets. My system of using Thompson's Bore ...

Re: Savage Cancels 300 AAC Blackout
Check n see what rifle shot those groups. A custom just like I said. I am not overlooking them. What is the ES of those shots, and if you then run those variations in ballistic SW you can see the potential results good or bad. But that data will explain why at 500 and more it can be a problem for th...

Re: Savage Cancels 300 AAC Blackout
I have not experienced stellar accuracy from my 2 different BLK rifles. But I do not expect it. It is what it is. I am, as others are, getting a fairly high ES which limits accuracy at any real distance. At those distances I would NOT use my BLK anyway. Wrong tool for the job. I also feel the plasti...

Re: Liberty mystic+ruger 77/357 = 300 black killer
I've been playing with my DCA 300BLK upper with mystic and it shoots so well with RE-7 and the Noe 247PB's I think I'll have a hard time finding something else that will out shoot it for accuracy.I think it will be good to go out to at least 200 yards.I think a 357 would hit a little harder at clos...

Re: AAC Prodigy...
Thompson's yellow bore butter. The green does not work as well. Not sure why this works better than synthetic grease. Maybe it's just in my head, but I feel this helps with reducing the buildup and makes cleaning easier. The bees wax might be the reason? I coat the tube, then all the baffles. After ...
