Re: Gemtech mist

I relocated the scope mount to the barrel and it seems to have helped. Need to put it on paper and see for real.

Re: One can to rule them all, and a bayonet?

I was thinking maybe a carbine length gas system on a 16 inch barrel with the barrel lathed to the proper diameter might work I could mock it up if I had an M9 or M7 bayonet. But I dont. If I remember correctly the whole point of a mid length gas system was to locate the bayonet loop onto the bird c...

Yeah the worst 10/22 I ever saw shot a little worse than 5 or 6 moa.
This one is probably like 10.
What's a good way to barrel mount optics on an mist?

What if I wanted to do something like have a tactical innovations fake silencer hogged out for solovent trap k baffels and have an end cap threaded in?

Re: One can to rule them all, and a bayonet?

I wouldn't even try it on an AR. I'm sure someone has. I thought about it briefly and the only thing I could come up with is use a mismatched gas system barrel length. So the bayonet fits on the barrel just past the flash hider and doesn't rely on fitting on the A2 bird cage. You may even have to la...

Re: Accuracy of integral suppressors

8 to 18lb? Oh hell no. It is between 4 and 5lb. I could get one that you could breath on and would fire, I don't think it would help. I could be doing something wrong. It's a take down. I might try another scope, different way to set up the take down rig, different ammo, ect. I'm used to a 10/22 sho...

Re: Accuracy of integral suppressors

I have one, a 10/22 gemtech mist. don't care for it. It's really quiet but accuracy sucks.
The good thing about screwing a silencer on to the end of a gun is you know how accurate it is with out spending all the money on a silencer and tax stamp.

Your silencer has a silencer.
Being able to sat that alone is worth the $200.

Re: .22 rimfire, integral vs add-a-can

I'm kind of disappointed with my intergral 10/22.
Yeah its quiet, accuracy isn't very good, it was freaking expensive and now I know I would have a better 10/22 if I went with a 16 inch barrel and decent screw on silencer.

Re: No DD dealer in this part of the state

I ended up buying an M203 reciever and form 1ing it. It's been in NFA limbo for about 2 moths now.
Buying an M203 reciever and putting it on a form 1 is probably going to be the easiest way to get one for most people.

Re: Qb 22 kit with mouse holes

I just over bore the first baffels. For example my 22lr and wmr form 1 solvent trap the solvent trap maker called for a 9/32 drill bit if you want to turn it into a silencer. So I drilled out the first 2 cones with 5/16. I read elsewhere that if you drilled all the cones on a solvent trap like mine ...

Probably get something that is at least 308 rated with steel end caps and body then drill it out for 22.

Let us know how it goes.
If I make a 6.5cm silencer I will use size D for sure, don't know if I would go with a 10 or a 12.

Quiet bore dot com says their aluminum 30 cal solvent trap has been form 1ed and put on up to 300 win mag.
Don't know how long it will last on 300 mag.

If you watch to have some fun post this over on the high road dot org. DDs make the mods really uncomfortable. It looks like 10,000 to 11,000psi. I have always heard it was 3,000 to 5,000.
11,000psi is pretty intense.
