Re: Suppressor for Remington 700 CP .308?

That’s what I needed for a start, pointer to a decent option (~$1k, quick attach, 12.5” .308 rated). Thanks. Been a while since I pawed thru such statistics; expected AAC would be an option but now starting at $2k maybe not.

Suppressor for Remington 700 CP .308?

Finally found a Remington 700 CP .308.
Given the 12.5” barrel, how best to suppress? What did Remington intend?

Re: How much would you have to be paid to sleep in a cemeter

$100, because you're offering me money to do it. I'd think it rather fun. We're here because of those who aren't now; they're resting in peace and its nice to spend some pleasant time among them where respectful peace abounds. Only qualms are the "no guns" requirement in a place where viol...

DOMA precedent for... NFA?

SCOTUS struck down DOMA on the premise that if a state defines someone into a protected class recognized by the Feds, the Feds must respect that inclusion as valid. SCOTUS has declared handguns a protected class. If a state declares, say, machineguns (a la Glock 18) a part of that protected class, m...

Re: Baffles at Shapeways

He's skirting the line by making them unusable sizes (at least some of the items, I haven't checked all). A coffee cup is too friggin' big for baffles for anything (12g a maybe?), and the cores are half or third the size needed. So what he's making is legal insofar as they're unusable sizes. Tweak t...

What is it with these people who post this "discuss" bullshit without offering any opinion of their own? Sometimes someone is interested in what other wise people have to say before concocting their own opinion. I was honestly interested. My own opinion is insufficiently informed to pass ...

Baffles at Shapeways

http://www.shapeways.com/shops/PaulNoiseLess

Guy claims they're just novelties, salt shakers, coffee cups, etc.; sez don't buy if you think they're not legal in your jurisdiction. Most look like straight-up baffles & cores to me.

Discuss.

Re: Federal reciprocity added to the background check bill?

Anyway, it all failed. For now. It will be back. And on that note... I'd be tempted to trade background checks for full repeal of 922(o) plus instituting full national reciprocity. BUT... That's assuming good faith, which the other side doesn't have. NY demonstrated that of late. Upon passage of th...

Re: Seems to me, a well regulated Militia needs assault weap

Ya know, wording of 922(o) allows civilian acquisition of post-'86 machineguns if a government agency approves.
Methinks we're not making proper use of this. No reason why we all can't have an M4.

Re: 2nd Amendment - just to be clear.

Great angle on the verbiage. Makes perfect sense. Cements the right more than ever. As for the concern that someone will do something stupid with something big, most forget that expensive weapons cost too much to come by for the owner to throw it all way by doing something stupid with it. Abusing a ...

Anyone know how to measure how much caffeine is in a drink? I have access to a well stocked chemistry lab, but being a bit-pusher have little idea how to use it for that particular purpose.

Any firearm otherwise authorized for use in the hunting or taking of game may be equipped with a silencer
Wonderfully broad, esp. as reports focus on hog hunting.

BTW: any comments on the requirement that all bullets be expanding? First I'd heard of it.

Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Seen the first two original movies. Very well done, though not what I'd call "entertaining". Watching #2&3 more out of a sense of obligation than of desire for a good time.

In the category of Se7en, Silence Of The Lambs, etc. - excellent all around, though not fun.

The originals are good enough and recent enough I have to wonder why the remakes.
