Never mind, I found it.
Tammaso Defenestrato -- a Colonel in the Boxer Rebellion war of 1899. Later, the Italian "layered defense" would be named after Colonel Defenstrato -- which is funny, because when his name is broken down, it is literally "Strato (layer) Defenes (Defense)".

Re: Couple believes evil doesn't exist, then they biked through ISIS territory
ISIS is active in Tajikistan? Why? For what? And who cares about Tajikistan?. They aren't active there. They use it as a safe haven for R&R and resupply. Think Laos in 1970. Fair enough. But still... .why? And how? Ideologically it makes sense, or at least as much as ISIS does in general. But r...

Possibly related, woman tries to prove that the Middle East is safe so she goes there and is raped and murdered.
Google "Pippa Bacca", an Italian Feminist Artist. AKA, an idiot, idealogical plant-food.

The title is even funnier if you re-word it to:

I am shocked! Shocked to hear that anyone could ever suggest that our brave, selfless, and dedicated law enforcement professionals could ever lie about anything, ever! How dare you, sir? Have you no shame? My only complaint with your assertion is that it singles out cops for this, when in reality i...

Re: Highest homicides in the world
Socialism according to its definition probably can't exist in today's world. Realistically, only communism can. In socialism, the means-of-production and wealth of the country is held by society; but we don't have any areas on earth that are run by society... but rather by government. Communism is w...

Where to even start here? The housing bubble in the US wasn't a result of 'greed', it was a result of the liberal belief that poverty can be fought with legislation. Capitalism wasn't the cause - ignoring capitalism caused it. Hamstringing capitalism caused it. Using legislation in lieu of capitalis...

I found a place that'll sell you a real ID. Service is sometimes sub-par. It's a fake, fake ID.

Re: Bismuth as a catalyst for fuel synthesis
Catalysts lower the energy of reaction. So do enzymes. You are experiencing a fundamental misunderstanding. The above process costs more energy than it produces. The end. If that energy comes from a coal-powered electric plant, then the overall system will produce more CO2 than it will eliminate.

This isn't fusion or fission. Therefore, the total number of atoms before and after the process is identical. People/animals and car engines are nearly identical; we break high-energy hydro-carbon BONDS and make low-energy Hydrogen-Oxygen and Carbon-Oxygen bonds. The total number of Carbon atoms tha...

They granted immunities before interviews during the Hillary investigation at the FBI. Then Comey got up there and read a laundry-list of crimes and lies told by Hillary, and then he said the FBI wouldn't recommend indictment.

Time to check who supplies credit cards and change if necessary. If you pay your bill on time in full, your actually hurting the company. I might OPEN an account with these guys. How so? They charge the vendo a fee to use their card, usually 4% or more. Then there are people like me that pay their ...

Re: A half-assed idea....
There's a muzzle device called a 'fire-pig' which is just a cylinder on the end of the barrel. The point of it isn't to reduce overall sound, but to simply direct it away from the shooter. If a standard silencer could be screwed directly onto the end of a 'fire pig', then the 'fire-pig' would become...

If you go with this model, it'll be 100% usage on a 9mm AR. It is completely unsuitable for a handgun.
It adds very little to the overall length of your platform without sacrificing either baffle count or internal volume.

A country is only partly the land, and is mostly its people. Why would Senegal spontaneously adjust its culture to a more successful one? 20 years isn't enough time to overcome the fundamental problems plaguing it. It's asinine to hint that Senegal has become some paradise just because 20 years has ...

Re: 22 Nosler Suppression?
A short-barrel 22 Nosler does not make sense. The cartridge is fundamentally a 223 magnum. You might do better with 30 caliber suppressor, and don't shorten the barrel. A suppressor will bring down the noise level, but an AR and a full-power centerfire cartridge isn't going to be hearing safe at all.

Re: Pier 1 Imports: Self-Defense Vase
Why not a self-defense hammer? A 2.5-pound 'mini-sledge' is about as ideal as you can find in a short wind-up melee weapon. It doesn't require much pull-back to get a solid hit, nor can it be easily blocked due to its inertia. I agree with your assessment for meelee weapon choice of a hammer over a...
