Re: My Delta printer review...

Any updates on how the Glock frame? I'm curious to see how closely in can mimic the durability of molded parts.

Re: Duty to Inform law enforcement, CCW

3/4 of the times I've been stopped (in Texas) in the last few years the officer asked me to step out and disarmed me until the stop was complete. Only one of them could figure out the slide lock and mag release on a P7.

I was thinking the same thing. Until very recently airbursts were (sort-of) open to debate as a frequent event:

Re: A coincidence?

Fox's reporting was terrible! They said "massive meteorite" (it was the size of a table) and were just generally goofy with figures and facts. Robin Meade is not the world's best science reporter, either.

Re: Creationism or Evolution?

There is a great deal of evidence for evolutionary change in the fossil record. Vestigial limbs on ancient whale species (as they were land-dwelling mammals which returned to the sea), raptors (as in, velociraptors) with feathers, wishbones, hollow bone structure, and beaks which were clear progenit...

Re: Are angels real?

name one thing in the bible that has ever been discredited I have a hard time believing that is a legitimate question. [See tower of Babel quote above, formation of the earth, evolution (not contemporaneous creation of all creatures), non-existence of an ark atop Mt. Ararat, etc. Pretty much all th...

Re: Are angels real?

Science= start with an idea and try to discredit it with all factual evidence. If it survives this, it is most likely reality. Religion = start with a premise and look only at/for supporting evidence. (Repeatable tests or observation optional). Religion subjected to the same tests and standards as a...

Re: Are angels real?

I think most people consider emotions/feelings as their own seperate, individually distict category. - Totally subjective to the person and, though real, certainly not useful as evidence for anything but personal convictions. You won't ever see someone make a case to a corporate investment group bas...

Re: Are angels real?

Well, sort of. Edwin Hubble's cosmological constant, supercomputer repeatable do-overs, and another vast body of evidence (~100 years of supporting observational astronomy) pretty much make an un-arguable case that the big bang happened. Now why it did and what caused it are up for grabs, but I doub...

Re: Are angels real?

He is correct that the odds these entities are human creations far outweigh the odds they exist as advertised. History, reason, and an amazingly vast amount of research support this. We make important choices every day based on overwhelmingly slanted odds - don't run a two way stop, playing the lott...

Re: Why do I need high capacity clips and so much ammo?

No, airliners have mandatory reserves (~an hour or more) and sometimes a discrepancy between flight planning and reality mean that they land with minimum fuel.

I'm not really into sub-9mm for carry, but after trying various methods I think this is the only un-annoying option for running.

Re: Boston airport (non-commerical side) "security"

This particular FBO is within 100 yards of the international ramp (very rare), and two of the 9/11 aircraft originated from Logan. Accordingly they're just particularly sensitive to potential breaches (wild improbability notwithstanding). But yes, parts 135 and 91 are all the joys of flying with non...

Re: Boston airport (non-commerical side) "security"

From what I've read it would be relatively easy for me to get a non-resident LTC that is unrestricted and almost impossible for most Bostonians. It seems ridiculous to be effectively penalized for being a resident. I suppose it could be easier in a suburb, though.

Have any of you been deputized solely with the intent of carrying under 18 USC 926B (Law Enforcement Officers Protection Act)? It would be so nice to have reciprocity everywhere in country.

Boston airport (non-commerical side) "security"

As a corporate pilot I frequent a lot of airports all over the country. The terminals we use are called F.B.O.s, or fixed base operators. One of the biggest joys of our travel is that we skip the TSA business altogether. Our passengers' names have to be run through their database, but I've never gon...
