Re: First Monocore

I've been playing with monocore designs for a few years, and you do seem to be going in an interesting direction. I'd play around with removing as much material as possible before you condemn your design. I suspect a bit more time with an end mill will give you more reduction. It looks like you can ...

I am not saying you cannot run a silencer on a 1:12 barrel. It just means you need the can that much more concentric to the bore to avoid a problem. But no, I would never choose a 1:12 twist on purpose on .308 any more than I would on .223. I plan to use 1:7 to 1:10 twist, depending on the bullets ...

Bullshit aside, each company has good, mediocre, and bad products or service. For my Mac-10 I've been very happy with my Viper-45. It is better then almost any other product for this application. My Trinity? Eh.. It works.. is ok wet, but.. there are better can's out there for the job at this point....

Should have no problems visiting FL with suppressors. I've flown to/from TX with suppressors and the airline was only worried about the amount of Ammo I had.

The baffles look like my old ones. My only issue was the lil locking nut they epoxy in place needed to be tightened. They replaced that and the spacer. My baffles look just as abused as the day I shipped it off. hehe

Gemtech repair

Ok, I will say as a Gemtech trinity owner I do understand some of the flak that they get as a mfg. But I will say that when I had a legit issue with the can they made it as easy as can be to get it repaired. 3 steps.. 1: Send email saying "baffles are loose" 2: send can back 3: get can bac...

Every project I've heard of they abandon since they are not getting it 'quiet'. Something tells me that it will be very tough to make a .75 bore suppressor as quiet as a .22lr, so don't worry if it isnt. Maybe hearing safe should be the goal. One thought, as I wait for a form-1.. considering the dif...

my groups start to open up to 3/4-1" at 100 yards after 35 rounds. I tend to put some m-pro 7 on a mop down the barrel, let it sit for a few seconds then a quick pass with a brass brush. I run dry patches till they look pretty clean then one with a squirt of hoppes gun cleaner, followed by one ...

I've got a factory Rem 700p in 308 and it does well with subsonic loads and out to 1000 yards using a 175gr SMK. One load uses 8.8gr red dot (subsonic) the other 44.4 Varget. I did the trigger work myself (saved $) had the barrel threaded by a local, and put a Leuopold MK4 on top. Picked up a can fr...

if the rice gets nasty you pitch the sock and get another one. The logic I heard for using rice was from someone who'd use it in the field. "worst case, you have the rice to eat"

This video iritates me beyond words.

If an investigation shows that was a technique he was legitimatly tought, then I do not think criminal charges are right against him. I do however think the Governers office was right in calling for him to be fired.

rick: Thats a good question, I got a 1/4" 100y group with my first stable subsonic .308 load.. I don't have a chronograph to see if the velocitys are -that- close, or whats going on.. Will have to see if accuracy follows out past 100 yards very soon.

175gr SMK/9gr Red Dot stabil in a .308 1/12" rifle

Heya, got a decent test group while trying to find a subsonic load using a 175gr SMK with Red Dot powder pushing it. I do not have trailboss powder to test with. I will load up some more using 9gr of powder and get a good group very soon. Am quite happy as I still have about 1800 175gr SMK's sitting...
