First off, I will gladly buy the silencer back, pay the shipping cost, and refund your money. Secondly, Mark was sure he had cleaned the silencer before handing it to me to ship, but he obviously forgot. No excuses, it happened. I was unaware of any prior committment to clean the can, so I didn't. L...

fyi: ATF posts a Silencer Repair/Alteration FAQ, 4/17/08

It's only 3 pages long, so it's a quick read, of stuff that is quite surprising. http://www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/nfa/041708silencer-faqs.pdf a friend found it here, http://www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/nfa/info.htm and here on SubGuns: http://www.subguns.com/boards/mgmsg.cgi?read=653863 I'm curious w...

Yep that pretty much covers it.

Matt P. says only their big stocking dealers get the first batch of Spectres.

Until we have a chance to test one, we're in wait-n-see mode on this one.

I'm sorry to hear the AWC didn't bear up well under comparison. I had a long talk with them a few months ago, and I was really impressed with how friendly and helpful they were. The dealer model is bit complicated, but I'm willing to stock any product that I'd buy for myself. Further, they implied t...

As to dry-firing: Conqueror and Mark covered it. If y'all are using the Bill Wilson 1911 book, it says you should be replacing those springs and checking that firing pin on a regular schedule. P22 mag safeties: I read a quote somewhere that said "Any idiot can make a complicated solution to a p...

free bump, as I'd like a recommended dealer as well.

Have a customer with a legal address in Fairbanks, needs a transfer to a C3 dealer in his area.

Thanks

It's not so much a matter of forcing the can on, as mating the female cone in the silencer to the male cone on the barrel muzzle. This will let the locking tab drop in behind the cone, without reaching for the dremel or a file. You're talking about a matchup of a few thousandths of an inch. For comp...

My business partner has a Defender as well. Similar problem, at first, I think. Essentially we determined that the tolerance between the silencer's retaining 'blade' and the back of the muzzle's "cone" was so close that some encouragement was needed. I placed a rag on the floor, placed the...

Thanks for the replies - after working with the SIG some more I realized there's no half-cock notch to catch the hammer if the sear fails. So I see your point about decocker style pistols. Also no external safety issue. As to having a DA-SA that can be cocked and locked but not using it, I say 'Why'...

question for DA-SA pistol fans

Hi, first post here! I'm a long time user of 1911 and striker fired pistols. So my handgun career is basically SAO and "long-SAO" pistols. I recently was using a CZ85B and a SIG P228. I was surprised it was possible to cock the CZ and put the safety on, and the hammer stayed back - instant...
