Re: "hardened" freeze plugs

You can try a simple test. Take a few freeze plugs and run a file across them and see how it "bites" into them, easy, hard, medium?? Now try your hardening method of choice. Before tempering them try the file again. If they are truly able to be hardened they should now be hard and the file sh...

Re: Building our first .223 suppressor

It will be interesting to see what happens when someone in one of the states with the firearm freedom laws tests the law. Alaska has stated they will defend you but I wonder how the case will go. Please keep us up to date Zerbiak on what you find out.

He sounded like the infamous "GunKid" that has plagued about every online gun related forum at one time or another for years. He has also been banned from all those forums too.

Re: My 9mm Form 1 with booster

Excellent machining job!

A rookie question on boosters so no laughing  . I thought you only needed a booster on a linked design barrel like a 1911 and not on glock type barrels. Right or wrong??? Thanks for any constructive comments. :)

Re: SilencerTalk Form 1 Suppressors - Links to Completed Bui

Good job Wicked. Its too bad that they don't allow stickies on this board. There is a huge amount of quality info lost inside the mass amount of posts in the forum.

There have been some really helpful posts that people have requested stickies of. I certainly realize its your site to run as you choose but is there a reason we don't have stickies? They do save some of the repetitive questions. Thanks.

Maybe the mods could post this at the top as a "stickie" for everybody's future reference. It would save lots of searching and repetitive questions.
Also some of the classic posts like"making K baffles step by step" and the current "first round pop" questions. Mods?

If its a Form 1 my understanding is you can't legally hire them to make it for you unless they are a licensed manufacture.

My understanding is that AXA size QCTP are for the smaller lathes. Are you getting chatter because your toolpost is too small and has too much flex? akraven

You know since we continually get this question and others, maybe we can get a "sticky" posted at the top of the page. That would save answering the question over and over. Can one of the mods do this?

I have to echo "Baffled" in saying its not perfect but if it works does it really make a differience. Can you further explain what your thoughts are on the can itself and how it functions? akraven

Well now this going to get downright embarassing. I have a mini lathe that I am pretty new at using. Since I couldn't fit it into the headstock I didn't figure I could do it. Hence taking it to the gunsmith. He said since it is also slabsided he couldn't put a dog on it to do it that way. akraven

Not to hijack a thread but anybody have problems getting the barrel threaded. I talked to a local gunsmith and he said because of the width of the base he couldn't get it into his lathe. Just curious. akraven
