Re: "integral" suppressor for an old Gewehr 88 commission rifle

Well, I'm glad someone else thought of this. It may not be all that practical but somewhere back in the recesses of the old memory I seem to recall reading about exactly such a build, but done many decades ago. I was just a kid at that time, and always read anything that I could find about guns. If ...

Re: A Wet K.I.S.S.

Thanks for posting the pictures again. I'd love to see the side view details of the single baffle in the last picture. I'm also curious, where in the baffle stack, when assembled, did the large ID externally grooved ported baffle sit? At the front or back of the stack? I also would love to know what...

Re: Supressor Baffle Pics!

Nice picture. Is the small sectioned one in the middle a cut up old Maxim?

Re: Any Known Cases Of A Suppressor Damaging A Firearm?

I can't remember the name or find anything at all now, but there was a suppressor builder out here in Oregon a few years ago that was building rifle suppressors that were using a first baffle that was quite close to the muzzle. I believe that this was resulting in muzzle erosion of some sort on some...

Re: O E Brown?

I haven't been able to find the copy of the old catalog, but I believe that Brown was one of a couple of small manufacturers that tried to take up silencer manufacturing after Maxim got out of the silencer business. Maxim quit making firearm silencers before the 1934 NFA was enacted. There just wasn...

Re: Ruger .22WMR suppressed

It doesn't seem to be a generally known fact, but a 22 WMR can also fire the 22 WRF and the 22 Winchester Automatic round. They have the same case diameter bur shorter cases. The WRF will be supersonic but the 22 Win Auto round will probably be subsonic in a shorter barrel. The 22 Win Auto round has...

Maxim silencer for Springfield 1903 question

The Maxim company produced a silencer specifically for the US Springfiled Model 1903. If memory serves me it was the Model 1915. I know its an obscure subject, but the question I have is whether anyone knows if the small quantity used by the US Army was individually serial numbered? I'm aware that s...

Here's an example of the grip extension on a 2214. It doesn't look like much but it makes a lot of
difference (at least to me). These grips were a lucky find years ago.

Re: Smith and Wesson 2214's

My 2214s are some of my favorite pieces. If your handy with wood you can make a set of grips that are about 1/2 inch longer at the very front and slightly thinner and end up with a pistol that is smaller overall but has enough grip length for all the fingers (at least for my fingers, anyway). If I'm...

Re: small 22 host?

I don't beleive that anyone mentioned that the S & W 2213/2214 can use the mags from the S & W 422 & 622 series, thus giving more rounds and a longer grip. With a little effort you can even come up with a slide on piece that goes onto the lower end of the longer magazine, similar to the ...
