Re: 10.5 or 12.5 barreled upper for SBR, which one & why?
Its an SBR, if you were going for velocity you would get a 20" barrel. I say go for the shortest barrel with reliable function = 10.5. FWIW, I really like my 10.5.

If all you have is a hammer, everything else looks like a nail..... For those of you who prefer the FB/Whisper in your subsonic bolt gun, have you seen the new 20 round .223 AI mags (mine is used in Badger bottom metal) that fit a 240 SMK really nice (.223 rounds in upper right for reference). http:...

I have to disagree, IMHO a .308 is just not as efficient as 300/221 FB for subsonic shooting, subsonic downrange performance is maximized by bullet weight and you cannot spin a 220/240 gn SMK in a 1-12 to 1-10 barrel. You can make your 308 get by with a sub-optimal subsonic load, but where's the fun...

I like everything I have ever seen about Nighthawk, but, it does not look like they undercut the trigger guard and just a personal preference I like this done. I got the SF and really like it, so much I sold my Yost 1* as I never shot it again after getting the EB. I'd like to shoot a NH sometime to...

300 Fireball/Whisper SBR barrels at Noveske
Had heard no more of these were going to be produced, but guess what I saw on there today: 10.5 & 16" available.

I was always under the impression a cleaning regime on a new barrel was more about imperfections from the chamber being cut causing a coppering event during the first dozon or less rounds. New barrels have always coppered some initially for me and cleaning the first handfull of rounds until the copp...

Sold - OD G17 with accessories - SOLD
I tried, but just could not get used to the grip angle and trigger on a Glock. Guess a hammer on a pistol is for me so I picked up a Sig P226 Tac yesterday and this needs to go. WTS OD G17 with plain sights, bought new locally here in League City at Prodefense a few months ago for $499. Complete wit...

1600 yards anyone?
Got an opportunity to increase my personal long range best by 250 yards last weekend while visiting my buds in Vegas. Good time. Using a .284 at almost 3000 fps, it still took me almost 10 shots from my bud till I was looking high enough to pick up the trace..... drop was ~49 MOA. F-in sweet. http:/...

30 cal Cyclone - 3.5 MOA shift to 3 o'clock
Was a bit of a surprise the shift would be that much. Anyone else get a POI shift that large with their thread-on Cyclone? Another thread-on can I own has a POI shift 0.5 MOA to 6 o'clock on the same weapon. FWIW - host is a GAP built Rem 40X, Krieger MTU contor barrel finished at 24" http://i6...
