Re: Walkie Talkie
Not really SHTF awesomeness, but the ones we use, at the cabin, are the Garmin Rino. You have an LCD screen with programmable maps, way-points, static locations and you can see everyone elses radio GPS position (if they're programmed). They can be pricey, but give you a lot of info. I say not great...

Re: Walkie Talkie
I use the FRF(?) radios available at most sporting goods stores. They work really good when you and another are scoping out a large gun show. :) For things like this the FRS radios are great, same with just using for fun. They are not so great for emergencies as they have very limited number of cha...

It is interesting to note that Gem-tech removed their sound levels from their website complaining of other manufacturers copying their sound levels at the same time their products began testing below other manufacturers products in independent tests. ... The time to address who we, as Republicans or Conservatives - or whatever group you associate with yourself - is during the primary. Follow me here - If one waits until the primary is over and then jumps in on the side of someone else, then they waited far too late. I think that every time a large ...

I think that if you do not vote your principles you just keep lossing little by little. I hope that when the partys see that the principles are what matter maybe they will give us some one we can get behind rather than just vote against someone.

I pay for almost everthing with cash. I think in the last ten years I have only writen maybe 15 checks, and did not even have a credit card tell about four years ago. Only reason I got the card was I wanted to get a home loan and did not have a credit score.

Re: Healthcare Individual Mandate Question
Let me see if I follow your logic: The militia act: Makes you part of the militia before telling you to purchase materials. If it told you to purchase materials first, it wouldn't have the authority to do so. As odd as it seems, that makes sense to me and seems to be a good difference. Let's just ho...

Re: Home Standby Generator, Which one?
Buying a dedicated generator is easier if you have the money to spend, and would highly avoid going the natural gas/propane route. This is very important because even diesel can be a huge liability as it grows microorganisms, and even if it's better than gasoline, you will still have a large amount...

Re: How to survive a bear attack article
I have been told that the best way to deal with a bear is fire your first shot at the ground or whatever but not the bear. This (the boom) gets them to rear up, then you empty your weapon in to there pelvic area to try and take it out. This will keep the bear from being able to get to you. but does ...

There are things that the govement does for us that in and of its self are not bad. But the issue with me is that it is not the goverments job to do so, it is your job to take care of yourself, if you need help go to your family, church, local groops what ever but that is not the goverments job.

I don't mind saying this, as anti-cop as it sounds, F--k any police officer who issues a citation on that one. I agree, to a certain extent. On the other hand, I don't want cops to decide which laws should be enforced, and which ones shouldn't, based upon their own moral values. IMO - Their job *sh...

I did not see it but as for the EOD school, I do not think you will get to see much of it as almost all of it is classified. We had to lock up our note books at the end of the night and destroy them after each section of training. It is not as physical as the others but they try to put a lot of meta...

I would say at the federal level that what is "essential" is national defense, foreign relations, and intrastate relations. Having said that I do not think that we should be involved in every little brush war that takes place in the world, there needs to be some specific reason that we are...
