Re: Centerfire bolt action, Integrally suppressed?
I found that using a reflector tube like the enfield Delissle integrals better than packing material. It also lengthens the path for gassflow to the front.

If I’m not wrong you where machining these, than heart treat them to 900. Assemble and weld, machine the outside after fusioneelding than heat again to 900 right?

Re: Muzzle loading integral suppressor(new)
I received a email from Armstech a company that made captive piston ammo. Dear Mr. XXXX, With Captive piston ammo, each round is considered a suppressor. I believe that the definition of "suppressor" that ATF uses is "any device intended to decrease the sound signature of a weapon&qu...

Re: Integral rear cap thoughts
I have a few 1" o rings that I planned to use in my shop already so I'm not out anything but a few minutes using the cutoff tool to notch out the parts, and while I assumed they may be over-kill, had planned to use them to further help tension the outer tube, from a lack of better explanation ...

Did you check it against other 3o cal cans?
You could lose some weight / gain some volume in that end-cap

Re: Which taper for suppressor mount to brake?
I think R8 collets have a 17* angle (8.5 on compound), and 5C have 20* (10 on compound). I'm thinking 20* would be about right. With that in mind, what thread to mount can to brake and tighten on taper? I've read both fine and course. I've even seen acme threads used. I'm thinking around 20tpi for ...

As a reminder to people: This worksheet may not be 100% reliable and some of the formulas appear to have been tampered with. When I find time, I'll check my notes and try to bring it back to where it was when I first uploaded it a few months ago. One item of concern, which I'm going to attempt to f...

Hi there! A friend of mine has an AR-15 - 5.56/.223 (Not going into the discussion of 223 vs. 5.56 Nato -- He mostly shoots surplus or reloaded 5.56) He runs a Colt AR Heavy Match bbl, cut to 15" .. He does not want to shorten it further, but he would like a "moderator" that goes all...

Re: Same Volume K-Baffle Cans ... Fat & Short v. Thin & Long.
Equal volumes and not going to extremes with thinness, longer & narrower cans will be quieter. That was my WAG and most of the guys. Like Wallace Simpson in 1938 "You cannot be too rich or too thin" seems to work for cans too. :) :) You could shorten the fat K's skirt to the thin tube...

ECCO Machine" A lot heavier. Al is 168 lbs per cubic foot. Ti is 283 lbs per cubic foot. A cubic foot of stainless steel is 494 lbs. Sure its heavier but the walls can be thinner in 17/4 900 than in Ti or Allu. So in the end not that crazy much more and you can dip, beat blast or ultrasoon cle...

Mine aren't on the market at this time, but my stainless and Ti monocores can absolutely take 300 WM. So can the aluminum critters, just with a very limited rate of fire. Monocores aren't as popular for centerfire rifle because they're generally not as efficient at suppressing those rounds in a giv...

I see that these do not screw together like your other designs.
is this because of room inside the front module?

[quote="Mageever"] Many use a brake as a sacrificial baffle on really short barrels. If you have a high performance baffle material like stellite then you don't need to worry about that. Even Inconel and 17-4 will do fine unless you like doing mag dumps for internet videos. Really sharp-co...
