If I were paying someone to build up a KAC rifle, I'd use boltcarrier.com
Ayan is very nice to work with and really knows his stuff. He also has all the tools and skills to do whatever you need. Just check out his facebook page, etc. Lots of pictures.

Re: Evo-9, piston stuck - seeking help
I have, but I'll try again. And I'll see if I can squirt a little more of something in there. Just wondering if I was alone in this issue, and if other people had it, what they did to resolve it. Thanks for the reply. My Evo piston has gotten tight, but not locked in like that. If you can get it ou...

Re: Evo-9, piston stuck - seeking help
Did you try using a barrel screwed on to the extension to help with leverage?
It's most likely carbon build up behind the piston. I found that "DUB WHEEL CLEANER" really helps with carbon build up, however, I don't know it's affects on Aluminum. I've only used it on steel silencer mounts.

For those of you, like me, who liberally smear on Locktite when installing screws, remember the old Brill Cream ad from the '60s...." little dab will do ya" when dealing with Rocksett. So I was swappin' out muzzle brakes on a Savage 10PC, the Rocksett held so tight, I actually turned the ...

Re: Octane45 HK LH threads
Just the rear cap or the entire booster housing that's threaded into the tube?
I can see the booster housing coming loose, but not just the rear cap.
If it's the booster housing, I'd clean it up and locktite it back (or send it in to SilCo to do the same). That part is not supposed to come loose.

Florida has 1.2 million CCW permit holders for 19.8 million residents (however, the CCW number includes out of state permits as well) South Dakota has the highest percentage of CCW holders for their population at 12%. New Jersey is .02% http://crimeresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Concealed-C...

Re: Shims and Rocksett problem
Rocksett is not some super strong adhesive. It's about the same as blue locktite. It's very good at temp resistance (better than red locktite), that's why it is used on silencer muzzle devices. So, not, hand tight is not enough. The muzzle device needs to be properly torqued. The rocksett just keeps...

Re: Octane end cap is on TIGHT
The booster is TOUGH. You'll see. The problem will be if it slips in the endcap. It'll mar up the endcap and round off edges. So, press hard and don't let it slip.
As you state, however, the booster and end caps are replaceable. If it's REALLY stuck, call/email SilCo and they will fix it.

Re: Octane end cap is on TIGHT
I would put the booster in a vise and use it as the tool, then I'd press that tight into the boost and turn it by hand. I have a barrel vise thing that I would use to hold it as it's round and wouldn't crush the booster (though the booster is steel, so no real worries there). If that didn't hold it ...

A 02 can replace everything but the part that has the serial number. They can not lengthen the tube or change the caliber.-CL Thanks for your answer. What about if the original design features no baffles or wipes, just a registered tube and end caps? Could the 02 add a monocore? GHEN That won't fly....

Re: FTW SUPPRESSOR COVER - HAD
I have the MAD cover. Go longer rather than shorter. Recoil causes the covers to slide forward. To prevent this, you can use a longer cover and hang it over the back of the silencer and tighten it down more and keep it from sliding forward under recoil. I pulled the paracord tight around the rear of...

Re: Will I need new sights for my P226 when using an Octane 9 HD?
Sig sights are very low profile. If you can't shoot with both eyes open, you will need tall sights. Night sights will dim in around 10-12 years and then they are just regular sights. You can buy an inexpensive sight pusher here: http://www.sightpusher.com/Handgun-Sight-Tool.html Get the standard one...

Re: Need 1911 threaded Storm Lake bbl help...
Storm Lake is good to go. I have three of their 1911 barrels. There are only a couple of options that you need to worry about... 1. Barrel Ramp... A standard 1911 barrel, just has a small mouth area, no integrated ramp (like a Glock barrel for example). SOME 1911's (aluminum framed Springfield Champ...

No such thing as SBR lowers any more (meaning stripped lowers or built lowers with no upper that are already registered as an SBR). ATF has stated that in order for the SBR to be registered SBR, it must be built and assembled with the proper length barrel. SBR's are complete rifles and yes, they hav...

Re: Help me decide Spectre II or element 2
Either are excellent choices. My friend just went through this. Both use steel baffles so they are easier to clean. Both are super quiet. The Spectre II uses CTA baffles that are really easy to remove from the tube for cleaning. The Element uses K baffles that can get hard to remove after longer per...
