Suppresing an UZI

Picked up a MIMMS for my first can, Running it on my SBR UZI. It is what I would consider hearing safe with Win White box, as it doesn't cause my ears to ring. With 147 grain its still loud though. I guess 147 grain in a pistol would be quieter, maybe the longer bbl in the uzi, 10" allows it to...

Re: First Rimfire Can

Chondro, not sure what suppressor that is in your signature line??? Diomed, I did hear the stainless mite on a rifle as well, and it did sound better on the rifle but I would most likely be shooting this on a pistol most often. I live in NC, just east of 95. I don't mind paying more for more quality...

First Rimfire Can

Just had my first can approved Coastal Can MIMS. Looking to get the next one, which I want a rimfire suppressor next. Shot three different ones today, and looked through his stock and I need some opinions. Shot both the aluminum and stainless mite, and tac65. The Tac65 seemed the quietest to me. Alm...

2 Forms, 1 & 4 Time Difference in approval

So I sent off 2 forms at the same time, both checks cashed at the same time, both with the same Trust paperwork. SBR form comes back in just under 2 months. Form for Can is still out at 3 months. What's up with that? They went to pending at the same time, is their not some computer linkage there tha...

S&W upper snapped on no issues. It is looser on the C3 than the smith lower.

As useless as this is to say, I just built off a C3 lower but haven't put an upper on yet. Was going to complete it as a pistol and then register it after I felt it functioned well. Is your tension screw backed down all the way?

Local trophy shops won't touch it. Say they can't guarantee the work, and therefore don't want to be liable for the firearm if they mess up.

Engraving Template

I am having a hard time finding anyone actually willing to engrave anything for me. What local types do you call? Are there any DIY guys out there with a dremel and a steady hand? I have a local steel guy I am thinking about having him burn me out a template for a dremel bit. Would still have to be ...

Engrave Where?

Uzi, engrave the BBL... AK, almost gotta engrave the receiver somewhere. AR, any chance its legal to engrave the buffer tube on a carbine stock? You don't have to disassemble to see it? Not much real estate on the the BBL of the AK or AR? Any thoughts?

checks cashed!

My checks are cashed now. What branch do you call? How do you know who your examiner is? Will I have two different examiners since I have a form 1 and form 4 in?

I was hoping the OP would come back with some comment about why/how he is doing it, but in NC, especially eastern NC, you can take wildlife that are damaging your crops. Usually and specifically deer and pigs. I don't know about spotlighting for them though. This is usually done by the big farmers, ...

Since I'm from NC I'll bite... What kind of permit do you do that on and in what part of NC? I like my AK's, would do fine in the range you specified with the right ammo, but I can't get over the legalities of what you are doing? Please explain.

So once you have sent off your Form 1, an form 4 in my case, how long do you wait till you start calling? Who do you call? How do you determine your examiner? How often do you call? What information can you give your examiner that might make the process quicker? Any helpful hints would be great!

Trust doesn't work for FA. Supposed to work for everything else. The ones of us in counties with non-cooperative cleos are SOL otherwise. I had my form for a FA m11 in my locals office for 4 months before I gave up. They wouldn't even talk to me about it. Sad part is, I work for a BR window company ...

Hell, I even put in the post that I was most likely to have mine engraved, but admittedly this stuff is vague and confusing for a reason. There are a lot of us out there who are new to this, and hope for a warm welcome in the communi...
