Any Private Person Actually Got an Obsidian 45 Yet?
Has anyone actually got an Obsidian 45 yet? What do you really think about it? Are you using Rugged or Silencerco thread adapters? What guns you running your Obsidian 45 on? Any problems or issues? I purchased one around the first week of September 2016 on a Form 4 via a trust, my guess is it won't ...

Re: Excellent chance of 2 pro-gun Bills to pass in 2017
I doubt either will pass. One problem is that some states only allow silencers if they are registered with ATF. So if no registration, then the states may not allow them until they change their individual state laws. Could just open up another can of worms. For CCW reciprocity, if states allow recip...

Very nice. What did the suppressor end up weighing? How about a video of you shooting the suppressor?
Your success make me want to buy a lathe and give it a try myself, but I am thinking about moving in the next year and figure I should wait till after I move.
Great job.

Re: Trying to reload .357 subsonic...
Hello, Winchester 540 and HS-6 were the same powder, like a lot of other Winchester and Hodgdon powder pairs are (example: W296 and H110). I found the info below a while back because I had a bit less than a pound of HS-6 that I got from a buddy who moved and could not take the powder with him. Hodgd...

Looking around to finally start reloading 223 and I can't find h335 anywhere. Anybody got a good source besides checking gunbot obsessively? With powder availability being difficult at this time, you may want to look at other powders that could be used in your 223. I have had good success with seve...

Re: Correct timing of Trifecta flash hider?
It does not matter, but I used an extra shim to time my flash hider so the slot was up. I figured that put the solid fork down and it might kick up less dirt if I shoot prone without the suppressor. I have not tried shooting prone without my SPECWAR 7.62 since I got it, so can't confirm if it makes ...

Re: Baffles from planchets
The formed planchet kind of looks similar to the baffle from a Parker Hale 22 sound moderator I remember using when I was in England 20 years ago. At that time a person could walk in to a gun shop in England, pay 17 Pounds and walk out with the sound moderator in hand. It was considered impolite to ...

Re: 762 Specwar Brake mount
I found out the SPECWAR brake mount came with shims after I got a set of shims elsewhere too. Just make sure nobody is shooting right next to you if you shoot without the suppressor. I did and my wife was pretty pissed at me. I could also feel the blast bouncing off my range box back at me. With the...

Re: .22 keyholing at 3 yards.. problems found
sub-sonic, Good to hear you got it figured out and no barrel replacement will be needed. One winter I was shooting my Ruger Mk I, 6 7/8" pistol almost every other night at an indoor range, I went close to 3000 rounds before cleaning it, mostly to see how long it would go. Never had any keyholes...

Re: .22 keyholing at 3 yards
Just a thought, have you looked at the muzzle crown closely? Could there be an accumulation of lead and powder fouling that has got blasted back at the muzzle and built up, possibly causing the bullet to start to yaw? With the tumbling at 3 yards I would think you would have had a baffle strike by n...

What about electronic electronic copies? Various tablets are 7 inch or bigger and should display the document nicely. I would never hand my cell phone, laptop, tablet, or other electronic storage device to a LEO without a warrant. If you were to hand a LEO your tablet to look at your F4 copy, what ...

Re: New to suppressors - picked up my first can.
Make sure you put some kind of oil on the knurled lock ring to prevent it from rusting. I have never had a problem with my guns rusting, but the knurled lock ring on the SPECWAR 762 seems to want to pick up some minor surface rust if I don't oil it after each use. After I got my SPECWAR 762, I had t...

Re: Wrong Length on a Form 1
Thanks Bender for the quick reply.
I will write the letter this weekend and take care of it. If it was not for a a buddy asking how long the SBR turned out because he thought it seemed shorter than 31."5 I told him, I would not have measured it.
Thanks again,

Wrong Length on a Form 1
Hello, I submitted a eForm 1 for an AR-15 SBR back in early February and it was approved in late June. I miscalculated the overall length and put 31.5" for the length of the SBR with the 10.5" barrel on the F1. Once I got it all put together, I measured it at 28" with the stock extend...

Re: Subsonic ammo
Does shooting with subsonic ammo make that much of a difference? Those who have a suppressor, do you use subsonic ammo or regular ammo? The subsonic I have found online is pretty pricey. I was out yesterday shooting my Specwar 762 on my 16" 300 Blackout. You can definitely tell the difference ...

Thanks for the heads up. I will get with local dealer and have him order me one of the M15X1 RH Specwar Trifecta Flash Hiders. Also on a happy note, the local dealer got my F4 in from ATF on Friday, I picked up my Specwar 7.62 suppressor and took it out to shoot on Sunday using my 300 Blackout AR-15...

Why did you begin a firearms related manufacturing business in Connecticut? Seems like a poor choice for any shooting related business. Same for NY, IL, CA, MD, HI, or any other state that does not support the 2nd Amendment.

Re: Another Specwar 762 Question
Thanks for the update Andrew.
Unfortunately for me, I submitted my ATF Form 4 in July 2013, about 2-3 weeks before ATF eForms came online. So I doubt I will get the suppressor before you guys get the HK-91 flash hider mount for the Specwar 762 out. So I am in no rush.

Another Specwar 762 Question
I have a SWR Specwar 762 that I am waiting for the ATF Form 4 to be approved. The suppressor is coming with a 5/8 X 24 flash hider mount for my 300 Blackout. I already got a 1/2 X 28 flash hider mount for my 5.56 AR-15. I saw some old references to an HK-91 mount being in design. My question is does...
