Re: 80% silencers? Yep, it finally happened! (we have them but under the term "solvent trap" - at least they are honest!
Some states like Texas suppressors are illegal. Just read current Texas weapons Laws The only thing that makes them legal is that they are registered with the ATF, so passing federal legislation doing away with registration could impact legal state ownership, until state legislation makes them lega...

Re: What is the shortest barrel 10/22 that will cycle CCI Standard Velocity?
I had great success changing to the KIDD charging handle with different springs. I'm rockin the one with white spring using a 16" tacsol threaded barrel with a tac65 suppressor. Very very reliable with standard velocity and subsonics. http://www.coolguyguns.com/KIDD-Bolt-Handle-Charging-Assembl...

Re: What is the effect of making a can longer?
It's all about temperature of the gas when it exits. It doesn't matter if it is longer necessarily. Properly worked gas will stay in the can longer and become cooler. This is why it pays to have a good design so you save weight, save length and increase your grin size. The diminishing returns is why...

Re: cheap cnc machine
You arent going to cnc baffles for $2,500. You'll barely be able to buy american iron and tooling to be able to do it manually for that price. Any tool you introduce to metal on that machine will deflect. In other words, spend your money on quality tooling ONCE. We are talking firearms here, save yo...

Re: Legality 9mm Form 1 suppressor pinned to 300BLK
The acceptable bore tolerance is subjective. Do you really think the ATF is going to say why do you have a larger than what your form says? You could easily say to prevent bafflestrikes , etc. It would be obviously dumb to have a .22 form1 and possess a can that is friendly to .45 or larger. That wo...

Re: Does the blast chamber need to be reinforced? prevent erosion?
Blast chamber does not need to be reinforced with a 0.065 wall in 304. You would just be adding weight to an area that doesn't get eroded.

Re: Noob here, with a few question if you all don't mind.
You need to let us know what experience you have, equipment you have access to, etc.
If you don't have access to all of these things or know how to machine them properly , you are much better off buying a commercial one.

I second the 1/2" blast chamber on a .22 build with that many baffles. I think you should drop it down to 7 baffles and dump that spacer at the end.

May be a dumb question but you didn't put the baffles in backwards, right?

Endcaps that are not the same diameter as the tube just look bad and will certainly weigh more. No thank you.
