Re: Load data 147 HST

Is nobody here anymore?

I use about 3 1/2 grains of Bullseye with a 147 JHP bullet.

Brass just barely drips out the side of my Glock 17 with SWR suppressor.

Re: Life Expectancy

I have a lot more rounds than that through my octane. At least 4000, and possibly Waymore than that.

My trident 9 has even more rounds. It is starting to show a little erosion on the baffles that are made from aluminum. Sound and function does not seem to be diminished that I can tell.

I probably wouldn't keep it there if they have a 870 the short barrel will work on? That's just me.

Wow!

I thought 30 caliber cans didn't fill up like that? Thanks for sharing this. I assume that's all carbon isn't it?

Wonder if an overnight soak in something like slip2000 would dissolve all that. Slip2000 is a pretty amazing product for carbon removal by the way.

Re: Problem loading .45ACP

I had an older doing 550 that did the same thing. I sent the unit back to Dillon for their rebuild service and it came back running perfectly. They told me the crank was cracked.

The problem could be out of your control at this point?

. Not sure if you spoke with them or not about the 20" barrel, but may want to check with them before you get a can to use on a 20" rifle if you shouldn't be using it on said rifle. Can you please put up a link regarding the 20 inch barrel? This is all could find and it specifies 24 inch ...

Re: 44 Mag Subsonic-Which powders ?

Have a SRT 77/44 on the way. Which powders are best for subsonic 300gr bullet loads ? I know most of the magnum pistol powders don't react too well to lower pressures. Any link to data appreciated. I know you stated in aversion to using magnum powder, I'm getting my best accuracy in that rifle usin...

Re: Looking for powders for 9mm subs

Old data from Accurate was low. Current data lists 3.4-3.8 gr for max with 147, and that matches what I find with Solo1000. My load is usually ~3.6 gr with 147 moly lead, and I get ~915 fps. The problem with Solo is lot variance can be as high as +/- .4 gr. This is my main powder for .32, .38, 9mm,...

Re: Looking for powders for 9mm subs

I had trouble getting my Glock 17 to cycle using solo1000 over a 147 grain bullet without going way over the max published load data. (If that's important to you?) I'm currently using and like bullseye the best of anything I've tried. The solo1000 did work nicely when I "juiced" up the loa...

Re: 9mm reloading Problem

Create a couple of test rounds: Give your crimp die another half turn to exaggerate the crimping process to see if that solves the flare problem. If this works, fine tune your crimp die so that you don't overdo it and possibly damage accuracy in the process. Otherwise you may need to look at the bul...

Re: 9mm for Carbine use

I had some diffculty getting 124 to run my glock pistol without going supersonic in my encore/ar15. For some reason my trident/glock took more powder to run with the lighter bullets than I would have preferred to use. I now have an octane which probably works better but have not tried the lighter bu...

Re: 9mm for Carbine use

I am currently using 3.8 grains of bullseye under a zero 147 grain JHP. It will do golf ball sized 32 round groups at 50 yards with my ar15 and one inch multi-shot groups from my encore sbr at same distance. Can also use this in my glock pistol too without any hitches. Though i admit that spent bras...

Re: Hog hunters: What are you using?

If I can't get my truck to it and it's too big for me to drag out it stays there. My experience with this is that there is no trace of animal one week later. The buzzards and coyotes make quick work of them. Nothing goes to waste.

Re: Hog hunters: What are you using?

I'm using a 10 inch noveske rifle. I'm getting 2225 feet per second with the Barnes black tip and have been very pleased with the results on hogs I've been killing with my blackout rifle. I've just gotten access to some new hog land that has a lot of open ag field. There's probably going to be a 308...

Re: Hog hunters: What are you using?

I am currently using 2 rifles. A 300 blackout AR-15, and an SRT intergal 44 mag. I am hunting over corn feeders, and it would be virtually impossible to shoot at one over 100 yards. Traditional rifle scope on both weapons. Leupold 1 x 5 on the blackout, with an AAC 300 blackout suppressor. And a tri...

Re: 9mm 147gr FMJ: Precision Delta, ZERO, or ?

At least with the zero bullet, the JHP doesn't cost significantly more. only a few dollars per 1000.

That's all I buy for 9 mm. JHP almost always has a sealed jacketed base.

I've got a glock 17 and have a 147 grain load that uses power pistol. My velocity is a little higher, but it still covers me with powder.

I've since switched to bullseye and have less issue.

I know plenty of folks use more than listed charge on this page and I'm not arguing about what works or is safe, just providing info about max loads published by manufacturer. For me and my Glock, I couldn't get it to work reliably with Trident and these lower max charges with the 147 bullet. http:/...

Re: First suppressed 9mm hand loads

I think that solo is over published max by more than 1/10. I got an email from Johan at western powders I'll try to dig up for you. I decided to abandon solo 1000 for 147/9mm because I had to load well over max to get my Glock17/Trident combo to run. I'm using bullseye for 9mm/147 loads and can load...
