Re: SWR acquired by silencerco?
Both companies represent the best in customer service and professional integrity. Silencerco has changed the rules of the game for the suppressor industry by acquiring a successful company while allowing the company to retain its identity and product line. This model has been used to great success b...

Re: 9mm Subsonic ammo SOUND TEST "shoot out"
Byron, While a lot of offerings are "quiet", I don't see any ammo that is designed with terminal ballistics in mind. That being penetration and expansion! The link below is for Winchester 147 gr. Sub-sonic Silvertip Hollow Point. I shot some through one of the first 9mm Ospreys and it did ...

Re: BEHOLD - THE NEW SILENCERCO SPARROW!!!!!!!!!!
Kudos to MM for not caving in to the pressure not only here but the many phone calls he received. Business is business and he is a gentleman of his word. What a rolling out for a new can. You know it is good when other manufacturers are posting that the new product is not one of there's. The immedia...

CB Longs
The one problem is that they lead up the forward edge of the chamber because they are shorter in OAL than a .22LR. You will find that after just a few rounds, you can't chamber a LR without effort. That edge can be hard to clean.
That being said, more than one critter has fallen to them in my AO.

Given the debris that .22 ammo leaves, I would op for a user serviceable unit and forego worrying about a dip solution. One unit that has not gotten a lot of attention is the Clandestine from C3 Defense. It is a sealed all stainless unit that is very very close in dB's to the Aviator and 22Sparrow. ...

I have been in a position to visit both AAC and Silencerco in the past year. Both visits were in connection with articles I was writing for Harris. Each company has its own personality and culture. At AAC, I was treated well but limited to visiting in the front office. Since that was their policy, I...

Osprey Range Test
I visited Silencerco last month and toured their facility. Great folks all! I have a 9mm and .45 Osprey for a Harris article. Here are some photos for you to enjoy. While I won't get into all the numbers, I did witness the .45 Osprey register a reading of 119.50 dB with 5cc's of water added. Compare...

Mark, Thanks for adding to my post with regard to the testing equipment. I fully agree that a db measurement does not tell the entire story. But right now, it is the standard by which companies compare products. One point, the Osprey has a MSRP the is significantly less that $1,000. I don't this thi...

Visit to Salt Lake City
I had the opportunity to visit Silencerco at their production facility last week. I shot both the 9mm and .45 ACP Osprey in their sound lab. The two cans I shot were pre-production. While I was there, they were working on a modification to the baffle stack that looks like it will offer another 2 or ...

Instead of all the speculation, let's just wait and see what John and Silencer Research has to say. Both companies have great employees and products but the meter will not lie! Congrats to AAC for improving on the Evo series with the Ti-Rants. Congrats to Silencerco for producing two really innovati...

Kevin and the gang were nice enough to loan me #001 for a write-up in Combat Handguns. I used a Springfield Custom Shop XD for a host. The light is SureFire's new X400 Light/Laser. While I have had this a couple of weeks, I wanted to wait until after the shoot last weekend to post this. I shot the T...

Take a close look at Silencerco's 22Sparrow. I just did a write-up on it for Harris and was very impressed. Suppression was equal to an Aviator but the removable core and the protective sleeve puts it in another class.

Installing a SF Muzzle Brake/Adaptor
My first post here after visiting the great folks at AAC. I have a SR 556K en route. Are there any specific instructions on installing the adaptor or tools needed that would require a gunsmith to install it?
Thanks for a great forum.
Rob
