+1 to the used look. Whatever you're going to put on it will burn off assuming you're the type of shooter whose firearms collect more dirt than dust

I'll get a wider shot of the Pelican case before long. It's a Pelican 1200 and holds ten USGI mags [PMAGs don't fit :( ] I forget the model number, but there is also a smaller Pelican case that fits five USGI mags. Here's a pic of what my 416SD is now living on  http://farm8.staticflickr.co...

I was going to say "gun control", but that's admittedly a pretty conservative estimate.

Put a chain around the log and use a maul to split it...much easier than using a chain saw IMO.

Re: Several questions about supressed AR15 for home defense.
Get a 14.5 with a pinned FH if you can and put Hornady TAP FPD or any of the other great plastic tippped defensive rounds. A LEO friend of mine had to put down a pitbull that mauled an 85 year old woman after it had already been shot by all six rounds from a revolver and a few .40 gold dots from ano...

Boy I'm glad I'm staying away from their shop...the one here in Chattanooga just got their licensing in order...I asked how much it'd be for a F4 transfer...$100! Thank God I have an 02/07 SOT for a friend in town... They're yet another of the shops in town that requires a full year membership to be...

Re: Where do you carry your legal docs for NFAs when afield?
I keep copies in my vehicle and in the specific case I use for each firearm or my cans. I also have spares at my parents house and digital copies on Dropbox that I can access with my Droid.
ETA: Of course my originals are at home in a fire safe, but I need to get a safety deposit box...

Re: Self Defense + NFA Question
Yeah, in theory you should be ok. Hell in TN by the letter of the law I can use a short barreled belt fed MG with a can on it and as long as it's all legal and in my name and the shoot is justified then I'm fine, but I worry about cases like Gary Fadden where he was completely justified and still go...

Re: Router or Modem help...
Are you running your modem on a splitter or straight from the wall? Sometimes the splitters can crap out and start giving you a bad signal. It's best to run a single cable straight from the wall to your modem, but otherwise get a quality splitter with the widest frequency range possible.

Re: Rumor at Remington
The jury is still out for me on this being a death knell for AAC. I hate that Kevin and Cara are gone, but there's still a TON of good people there at all levels. That said I have to agree that SilencerCo is in a great position to excel and I look forward to their new offering(s) at SHOT this year. ...

I know Kevin spoke highly of Schauble, if true it sucks that they both had to leave. I'm still on the AAC bandwagon though, and it'll be hard to fall off as long as the good folks I know are working there
