9mm First round pop
I have a 45 osprey. on my 9mm its very quiet. except that first round. I spray a shot of white lithium in it to make it better.
I havent been keeping up with whats out now.
Is there a 9mm pistol can with K baffles, or one that has little to no first round pop.
thanks for any answers
Mike

quietest 9mm pistol can
I have above average knowledge of silencers. I have built form one cans. and now I have a osprey 45 can. this can has a loud first round, unless I put some fluid in it before first round. the rest of the rounds are pretty quiet. My form one can had little first round pop, but it had lots of blast in...

Need help finding a thread
I had a link saved, and also had pictures from this thread. but got a ransomware on my computer and lost it all. the thread had step by step pictures how to cut cones on a lathe. I don't remember what caliber they were for. but it was very detailed on the procedure for doing it. does anyone have a l...

Re: Pistol can blast in face
Tube length is 8" including end caps. but not Booster. Blast baffle is a titanium valve spring retainer with about a 40 cal hole. the hole size for all other baffles is larger than 3/8" can remember the size I have a heavy recoil spring ordered in hopes of keeping it locked up a little lon...

Re: Do Can Designs Affect Accuracy?
I am not that smart. but I do have my personal results: Remington 700 tactical SPS .308 cal. 16" barrel with Griffin minimalist titanium break. Form 1, titanium 1.5" OD 11" can with griffin endcap. baffels are formed freeze plugs with a deep cone. each cone is clipped, and put in can ...

Re: Need help from experianced minds
Thanks for the input guys. got me going in the right direction. took 1/2-28 part out of booster and ran the drill bit thru the baffles. looks like my hole thru the baffles is angled. its weird how that happened. im guessing because of the large hole for the booster on one end. where my 30 cal cans h...

My newest form one is a 9mm can with gemtech LID. Can is 8" titanium 1.5" OD 1.375 ID. baffles are freeze plugs form with a tool bought off ebay, and I also use a 45 and 60 degree cone in the press to get a really deep cone shapes freeze plug. my first baffle is a TI valve spring retainer....

Re: .22 freeze plug cleaning
update: put the non stainless .22 rimfire freeze plug baffles in a 1/2 hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 vinegar dip overnight. all lead removed. rinsed baffles good. once dry they started to rust quickly. I did not see any erosion from the dip. but that doesn't mean it wont happen when done often. put baffles...

.22 freeze plug cleaning
I have a specta II and love it. but this year I did a form 1 build from solvent trap and steel freeze plugs. its 2 inches longer and a little larger in diameter. but decimal levels are close to the spectra II with a cheap decimal reader. however I have about 2000-3000 rounds thru it and the baffles....

question about the dip
I use it on my baffles for my spectra II, but is it safe to use it on the tube and end caps. or will it take the coating off?

Re: First round pop

Re: First round pop
Ok I received the YHM muzzle brake. and shot it dry. to me it didn't make any difference in first round pop. so I guess I will have to be happy using the lithium grease. or go back to direct thread.
