Re: barrel threading question

expect to drop them on the lathe bed often. Once you get used to them, you will appreciate what I have typed here. You can loosely tape one end of them together, stops you having to juggle with seprate wires What I like about wires is the fluid of movement. I place the wires on the threads and appl...

Re: barrel threading question

Do not overlook tool tip wear and the slight increase in OD after threading. Two often overlooked variables that will leave you scratching your head when the Thread protector or ring gauge refuses to go on. Have confidence in your measurement and troubleshoot from there. Do not keep cutting deeper t...

Stop wasting ammo, rebuild the suppressor lighter.

Plenty of manufacturers making 20-25 oz. 338 suppressors.

Re: accuracy issues with 338 suppressor

If the rifle shoots fine until the suppressor variable is added, most likely not the rings. If the POI shift starts to change after a few suppressed shots, I suggest you fire another group after a cool down. Sometimes barrel harmonics take a few shots to become consistent. If you still get a varying...

Re: Extra K or small blast chamber?

Size the blast chamber properly to suit the best sound/ back pressure. If you are trying to meet the length without shortening the suppressor, add the extra length on the opposite end with a spacer or odd length baffle.

Re: accuracy issues with 338 suppressor

Something is moving. Either the attachment or the baffles... Or... How is the first blast baffle constructed and how far is it from the muzzle? What is the ID of the tube and what are the OD of the baffles?(baffle to tube clearance is what I am after) Aperture hole diameter? Is the suppressor should...

Re: bore clearance standards?

.020" for brakes .050" for suppressors You need to account for tube to baffle clearances. If you press the baffles in the tube you can tighten up on the aperture hole. However, baffle construction is more important than aperture hole clearance when pressure and sound are concerned. Our .30...

Re: How NOT to thread a barrel Video!

That is NOT a way to thread a barrel that i would reccomend! Even if it is for a muzzle brake the customer might put on a can later. Have experienced some 700 barrels throw out 0.02" on the OD and that is plenty enough for a baffle strike. But HOW accurate does it really need to be? There is p...

Titanium all day. Love it. Blast chamber looks a little large Think more gas diversion.... A bullet/gas pressure entering a suppressor is kinda like a fat woman trying to fart in a jug. There has to be a place for the gas to go besides one chamber. All you have there is one chamber with vents from t...

Re: SDN-6 or Gemtech Quicksand?

I would go with the SDN6 personally, we deal with too many GemTech problems and the most recent battery of problems is broken or crappy welds on the Sandstorms/Quicksands. I spoke with Dater about that issue. First they robot welded them as they would the SS cans they make like the M4-02. Soon real...

Re: HOOPER ORDNANCE .30cal. Titanium FEMUR magnum rated

The FEMUR Multi Purpose 7" .30 cal has proven to be great on all sub calibers as well. Had them on everything from .308 Win, 6.5 Grendel, 5.56, 300BLK, and .22lr.. Even with the FEMUR being a .30 cal suppressor, you cannot distinguish it from dedicated 5.56 suppressors when fired on a 5.56 rifl...

The direct thread on/adapter is the best option for many reasons. The biggest being repeatable zero if you take the suppressor off.

Guys, I apologize for a late reply. Work has been kicking my tail. I appreciate your input more than you know.
