Re: 45 k baffle critique

fishman: The skirt ended up long like that because the drawing started out for 9mm. I had to get the skirt diameter larger to be able to bore a hole big enough for the 45. When I machined the actual baffle, it didnt turn our hardly as long. Rekon moving the bit a little closer to the bore centerline...

Re: 45 k baffle critique

http://imageshack.com/a/img923/9454/1HX6JV.jpg Here is the drawing I made it off of. The green lines and circles on the bottom right image represent where the ports were cut with a 1/2" ball mill. It seems to me they should be lined up close enough for the cross jetting to take place. I dont k...

Re: 45 k baffle critique

I made these ports with a .5 ball mill. Half the bit in the bore, the other half cutting metal. I did it the same way on the backside. I though I read somewhere that half way was what it should be. I guess that wasn't right. It does make a large hole on the backside. Maybe a 3/8" bit would have...

45 k baffle critique

I have been lurking here for years. I finally got a couple of form 1s back a few months ago. Here is my attempt at a 45 k baffle suppressor. It is 1.5in diameter and about 8in long. It has 7 baffles with almost no blast chamber. I included a pic of the muzzle end cap. The first baffle touches the en...

.45 threaded bushing?

http://www.ftfindustries.com/product/RP-1911BB1.html Has anybody used one of these with good performance results? I got my paperwork back and made a k-baffle suppressor for my kimber 1911 and this is what I happened to have on hand to use to mount it so I turned an adapter to use the course threads...

So, 7 .005"(on the compound) passes with cleanup along the way? What about coolant? Thanks.

Single point threading titanium tube

I have been lurking here for years and just got around to getting my form 1 a few months ago. I saw a thread on here about threading titanium with a thread mill, but I need some pointers on doing it with a lathe. I am not very experienced with threading, especially inside threading, but I have succe...

Form-1 efile wait time

I e-filed a form 1 on Nov 21. I had heard wait times for e-file were short. They took my money, but it doesn't look like they have done anything with my application. It still just says submitted/in process. Are they that backed up? November was way before Obama's executive order. Anybody else waitin...

How long is the barrel? How long is the expansion chamber? How long is the baffle stack in front of the barrel? Is the can diameter 1.25" or 1.5"? Does the space around the barrel on the muzzle side of the threaded divider act as a secondary expansion chamber? What holds the bafffle stack ...

Thanks so much for those pictures. I have been wanting to form 1 one of these for a long time. Can you tell me the diameter of the tube? Also can you tell me about how long the barrel is and how long the baffle stack is in front of it?
Thanks again.

I had some cast 300gr bullets loaded to about 1000fps that I shot through it just to see if they would stabilize. I haven't shot paper yet to see how they group, but I can hit a 12-16" wide pine tree at 150-200 yrds. I figure if they weren't stabilizing, they should be off by then. I originally...

.44mag integral ruger

I'm thinking about making an integral .44mag out of a Ruger 96/44. What do you think about porting the barrel to get some of the gas out behind the muzzle? I understand some of the commercial rifles are ported. How many holes would be needed? What size and how far from the chamber? I plan on control...

How does it sound? Is the accuracy still ok? I always wonder about accuracy when a barrel has holes drilled into the bore.

. I am pretty sure that if you send them your host gun and some money either company will build you one, then you will know exactly what it's like. Hey, I never thought of that. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm pretty sure If I could afford to do that I wouldn't need to form 1 one. Anyway, I kn...
