Re: STW, AWC?
Were I starting from scratch, I'd go Odessa. Remember that you can always put coolant into a "dry" can to improve performance. Spritz in some Ballistol and enjoy. I own an Aurora II, which is a tiny can. But if I were going in that direction again, I'd go with a GSL Boss. Same design, but ...

Re: STW, AWC?
Wet cans are unfashionable at the moment. You can't do repeated mag dumps with them. Having said that, I own several, including an AWC Abraxas. The Abraxas isn't a micro-can...it's about 1 x 6 inches. But it's reasonably compact, reasonably quiet, and doesn't need a Nielsen device...at least not on ...

Which "pill bottle" micro-can?
I'm looking into the "pill bottle" micro-cans. The Tornado Tech Oxy-22 and the GSL Pill Box. Wet, wiped, and insanely small. This would not be my first .22 suppressor (I own an AWC Titan Three and a SWR Omega, and have a Q Erector in the transfer pipeline), but a specialty can. Any recomme...

Re: Reliable suppressor host list
In 9mm, the Beretta 92 is the gold standard. The HK P9S also has an outstanding reputation as a host. The HK P7 reportedly works fine, but due to the locking system tends to be loud. Sourcing a threaded barrel might also be problematic. Probably the biggest thing a Glock brings to the table is that ...

I'd imagine that a large adaptor, with enough internal room to capture some of the fouling and debris, might work.

Pressure washer as a suppressor cleaning tool?
Pedersoli makes a steam cleaner for muzzle-loading arms. I'm wondering if something along these lines might be a good way to scrub out a sealed can. Opinions?

Re: Looking for ideas for Small pocket pistols with Suppressor
All the Beretta pistol suppress well - the 950, 21, 70-series, and 87. I've got a threaded 950, 70, and 87, all in .22LR. I've also got a German .22LR PPK/S. My James Bond gun.

Re: Best "Quality and most Quiet" pistol suppressor host?
The Beretta 87 is fine, as are the Beretta 70-series pistols. The Smith 41 or a High Standard will do very well, but I'd recommend buying used, then get a second barrel to thread. The classic host is a Walther PP-series gun, but not the new production units. The old Interarms-imported guns are GTG. ...

Recommendations for 5.56 can?
I'm in the market for a 5.56 can. Desired: Quiet. Lightweight. Don't care about: Cheap. Quick detach. Right now, I'm leaning toward either a Gemtech Patrolman or a Thunderbeast 223P, but I'm not hard-over on either. This won't be my first can, but it will be my first for a centerfire rifle. It'll be...

Surefire 556 RC or SD for 16 inch barrel?
I'm looking at 5.56 cans, am seriously considering a Surefire. I think I can get a significant discount (~$100) on a 556RC over a 556SD. Is there any real difference in performance? Thanks.

Re: Help me pick my first suppressor
The dedicated subgun suppressors are usually larger than pistol cans in that caliber, since they are designed for full-auto fire. As for the multi-caliber options, you are always carrying and paying for the highest pressures and calibers the suppressor is designed for - which means that rifle and su...

Good thread-mounted 5.56 suppressor?
I'm in the market for a 5.56 suppressor for an AR. Don't particularly need a quick-detach unit, so saving money and weight by going to thread mounting appeals to me. What's got the best performance? Thanks.

Where? That would appeal to me.Baffled wrote:With this thought I poked around, lo and behold, you can buy a barrel for the 9mm AR that can accept the Mossad, or there are adapters that can be added to the 9mm AR thread.

Re: Repurposing Gemtech Mossad Suppressor
Maybe. I wrestled with the decision for a while. But I've got nowhere to shoot it...and in truth, my interests have always been more on the precision side of the house. I can fund quite a bit of other hardware (including a 5.56 suppressor) with the proceeds.ColoradoPacker wrote: You are nuts to sell this...

Repurposing Gemtech Mossad Suppressor
I'm in the process of selling my Uzi (having no place to shoot it within 100 miles), but the buyer doesn't want the suppressor. I'd like to use it on a 5.56 mm rifle, but don't think the can could take it. I've already got a 9mm pistol can. Any ideas of what else to do with it?

Repurposing a Gemtech Mossad
I've got a Gemtech Mossad suppressor for an Uzi. Thinking of selling the Uzi, as the least remote range to shoot it is 2 hours drive away - and I've lost interest in full-auto anyway. The question is, what do I do with the can? It's nearly new, but on a Form 4, so I figure its effective resale value...

To bad its sooo fugly. Not a bad group with the Federal ammo though. I just got a 87 cheetah for my wife and it`s the tits now. I would rather spend the extra $ and get something worth keeping. It would be nice if HK would do a rimfire along the lines of the USP. Amen! I don't know where American s...

Re: Who Is Next?
Honestly, I don't think it will happen. It's too easy for a major arms manufacturer to win the contract and have the suppressor vendor be a subcontractor. Especially since this sort of arrangement lets the prime pick the subcontractor whose suppressor works the best on their rifle.

Re: Do you think Suppressors will ever stop from being class
I think removing suppressors from the NFA is do-able. Noise pollution is an issue for many ranges - and the comparison between a muffler for a car/motorcycle and a firearm suppressor is one that non-shooters can relate to. Not to mention that with NICS, there is an intermediate level of backgorund c...
