762-SD old vs. new - dimensions, weight, db reduction
maybe this question has already been addressed somewhere but couldn't turn it up in a search. would like to know whether the re-released 762-SD is the same dimensions & weight as the 1st gen 762-SD and does it offer the same sound reduction (i.e. does the newer model have the same number and des...

Re: What are you guys paying for NFA transfers?
$100 from me, less if you're a repeat customer who i know will not be high maintenance. everyone wants to execute transfers by eform which may clear (i.e. be approved) more quickly but certainly take me a TON more time to fill out, these days i'm lucky if I can get a form completed in less than 45 m...

Re: ultrasonic cleaning ok for current (2013) tirant 9 and 4
The cavitation of the ultrasonic damages the anodizing and raw aluminum. Yes, the Tube is Ti(can't be ultrasonic'd due to its aluminum content), the blast baffle is SS and the rest are 7075 and so is the endcap. ahh bummer. i'll fall back to my sop of being lazy and simply avoiding cleaning centerf...

Re: ultrasonic cleaning ok for current (2013) tirant 9 and 4
al is a no-go for ultrasonic? i understand it would be corroded by using the dip, but was unaware that aluminum would react in some way to ultrasonic cleaning. fwiw, i believe the tube is ti while the blast baffle is steel and the rest of the baffles are 7075 but i'm really mostly concerned with cle...

ultrasonic cleaning ok for current (2013) tirant 9 and 45?
probably covered in other threads but could not find the answer by searching the board. Can AAC advise whether they support using an ultrasonic cleaner for the current (2013 manufactured) tirant 9 and 45 suppressors? thanks!
Re: Ranger 3
i don't think there's anything tricky there, i think it's more devoting capacity and resources to the backlog and existing huge sellers - mainly M4-2000 and 762-SDN-6 - during the crush of an election year and the post Sandy Hook panic. Additionally, AAC had some huge internal changes early last ye...

Re: Beretta 21A or P22 for small size suppressed 22?
hmm - thx for feedback. I picked up some extra recoil springs with the intent of cutting down a few coils and seeing if that improved function with standard velocity ammo, but swapping them out looks non-trivial so I've put that on the side for a bit. will run it a bit more with high-velocity stuff ...

Re: Beretta 21A or P22 for small size suppressed 22?
I think I am going to locally sell my 22/45 TB model and then buy a SR22 TB model. I don't have the need for both. The SR22 seems to be a good blend of smaller and lighter than the 22/45 but without some of the teething problems or cost of the 21A. I don't know if I got lucky but my 21A has none of...

Re: SOT Process
to be a manufacturer of NFA items, you first need to be a licensed manufacturer of firearms. zoning approvals, local business licenses, tax liabilities all apply to your initial application for a type 07 FFL. your SOT is just another $500 (or $1000) per year tax on top of all of your other operating...

Re: length dimension of tirant 9mn fixed barrel spacer
i'm just being lazy, figured i would see if someone had a spec before i broke out the depth micrometer. short answer is I'll take a gross measurement, then test for fit and just measure the actual amount I need to take off in order for the endcap to thread down flush against the spacer.

Hell, I would be will to pay double the fine in additional court costs, as long as my record was cleared. Oh, well. there's a good thread on it elsewhere in this forum (don't have it bookmarked but search may bring it up). I use a countersink for interior portion and compound rest for exterior.

Re: Advice for best 50 bmg suppressor
not sure if you've already committed to the AWC. Given the money (and decibels) involved, I wouldn't let stocking inventory be the driving factor in your decision. you'll wait 6+ months for something to come in and hopefully own it for many years. might be worth waiting a few more months for the mos...

yes, my form 3 clearly identified it as model QMF2. re: recoil booster, i do not run a recoil booster when shooting it on a .45 govt model. it's light enough to allow the slide to cycle without a booster.FailedAbortion wrote:Are QMF2's marked as "QMF2"?

On this note - i got my first YHM Phantom in yesterday, with the muzzle-device included in the packaging. Thing is built like a tank and weighs accordingly, but very good value for the money (and comes with a mount).

How much did all the 922R parts run you? Basically $100...I sent off the pistol to a buddy/SOT and he stripped out the hammer, trigger, sear, trigger box and cocking handle then replaced all that with US parts. He also added both the stock and hand guard. The SBR engraving and registration was also...

Re: An integral for a Ruger 96/22
I think my best options are a Thompson Machine Operative, a Huntertown Arms Fusion T22 or possibly trying to talk SRI into doing something custom. i've got an operative s (lengthy review posted here on this site). I like it but disassembly for cleaning can be very challenging and it's not available...
