I feel your pain Brother.
an instructor once told us "skill and knowledge gained is directly proportional to material ruined/used".
You got balls to stand up and admit it! I would have eaten it and licked my wound in private.
You have my respect!

I have found Cool Tool II to be the ideal cutting oil for everyting. 1 product that does it all saves inventory and WHMIS/ MSDS sheets In the old days most cutting oils were :type I was for metal and type II was for aluminum. Now adays and as with Cool Tool the II means non toxic or at least, less h...

Please pardon my ignorance Emilio
What is the other piece with the 550 cord on it? Is it a plate that fitts under the grips and allows a retention lanyard to be attached ?

Re: Point Shooting: A Lost Art?
I think it's becomming a lost art due to liability. To have an incocent bystander shot by law enforcement because the LEO was point shooting would make a personal injury lawyer wet his pants like an excited puppy. In current asymetrical warefare the irjury of inocent bystanders carries incredible li...

Re: Corrosive Ammo For Your AK
Cleaning with anything is important. Boiling water will dry instantly and a little oil over top prevents rust and lubricates. It's mostly old timers and guys who listen to the old timers that only recomend "boiling them out" as the only way to neutralize corosive priming or black powder re...

Re: My chickens came home to roost today
My son's flock liked just about any hand delivered food as treats. They once ate a bowl of fresh picked wild straswberries on me when I went inside to answer the phone. I came back out as and saw the red beaks and thought "I wounder what they got into or were they fighting?". The little bu...

Re: My chickens came home to roost today
Nice flock Rocker. No snow! JOKING!! We had some chickens for our son some years back. They were pets but we did eat most of the eggs. He named the hens after teachers he liked, and nice ladies we knew. The roster was named after an Army buddy that was a little on the loud side. He brought them insid...

Re: Reactive Rimfire Target Ideas?
I have used plaster of paris poured into molds like ice cube trays. When hit by a .22 they explode with a puff of white dust. Cookies like animal crakers, necco waffers, and cheap candy discs, were a hoot. The birds and vermin picked up the "broken targets" at the end of the day. Over ripe...

If you're shooting alot at one time without cleaning (I'm talking 10x 30 rd mags +) the piston is probably best. For almost any other use I'd just stay with DI.

Re: Anyone Raise Guinea Fowl?
My son raised black Japaeese miniature chickens. They are the closest thing to the oridginal Southeast Asian wild fowl that were domesticated long ago. The eggs were small and our daughter with a special diet used them. They lasted about 7 years because they were pets and the kids really looked afte...

Re: Anyone Raise Guinea Fowl?
My aunt had them and let them walk in her garden and eat all the lettuce to keep the snakes away. They will eat ants near the aunt mounts and revisit them until they are empty. They eat crickets to the point it is quiet at night around the house. They sort of take over the place and will rost in tre...

Re: M14 vs FAL
The FAL has alot of ergonomic concepts incorporated into it's design while the M14 was just an updated M1 Garand. That said, I'd rather carry an M14 if I had to make long shots (300yds +) in a wide open or mountainous enviornment. FAL - - 2 piece upper and lower that gets loose - front sight on the ...

Hello I find high tech fabric is good for high tech activities like climing , cycling, etc. Low tech fabric like wool is good for low tech activites like bush whacking (sleeping in a canvas tent with a woodstove in the winter), chopping wood, etc. I worked with a guy that had a 300 weight Polartech ...

I use boiling water poured down the bore from the chamber end on bolt guns and all over on autoloaders. It evaporates quickly them a a good bore scrub with solvent (hoppes #9) and spay and wipe with CLP. Allot of folks forget the gas system on AKs, SKSs, and FA stuff that doesn't have chromed gas pa...
