Yep, I noticed that too. The 357 Blackhawk is really a beefy gun.

Re: What to get?

The M11/9 is a great entry point into the world of NFA. Richard Lage's conversion kits make the gun much more enjoyable. I have a video of the 22lr kit being broken in. It's not 100% yet, but it's getting more reliable each time I take it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lq3nj-FwXNk I need to do ...

Breaking in a Lage Max-11/22 kit.

It's tons of fun, but not 100%...yet.

I plan to do more videos. Anything you guys want to see shot up?

btw...when firing 9mm it's 100% reliable

"I haven't shot lead in my 458SOCOM nor will I until I can find something that removes its easily from the bore." Take either a badly worn bore brush or a brush from a slightly smaller caliber and wrap it with a piece of 'curly kate' copper scrubber...Just one brand. They are the pan/pot ...

Re: Help me pick a caliber

Just finished a Mauser build in 45-70. It started out as a Siamese mauser and it had the bolt face to accomodate the rimmed 45-70 since it started out a 303 rimmed, I believe. This action is strong enough to handle any safe SAAMI spec load. To the OP: What caliber did you decide to go with? I'm work...

Re: interested in a big bore subsonic rifle

That's not a bad idea....still not a 1:10 but it would save having to buy a barrel. I'll have to look to see what that the standard bullet weights are for .458 mag. You could set it back a bit & do the 458 X 2" (was it Barnes who did this originally?) I'm building a rifle in 458x2. Who mak...

Yes, I believe in God. I've read the bible cover to cover and study it regularly. I am a Christian and I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I'm an engineer and I believe science does not contradict God or the bible, although many people insist otherwise. I'm far from perfect and make mistakes (si...

Thanks for the detailed reply. I've been interested in the heavier bullet subsonics because of results I've see (as in read about) in .45ACP. Since F=MV, it only stands to reason that working with heavier bullets makes sense for long distance subsonic performance. Thanks for the tip on .458. Would ...

Re: .50 Thumper?

I just got a chance to fire this rifle and I really like it! I fired it from the bench and another off hand. It is hearing safe and surprisingly quiet. Every target between 100 and 200 yards that I fired at got hit every time.

Nope. Mine is 100%. I highly recommend this press. I started with it and now own a Dillon 550 and a Dillon SDB. Even though the Dillons are faster the LCT isn't going anywhere. It will always have a place on my bench.

Savage conversion to 300 whisper?

I'm thinking of doing a 300 whisper and was wondering if anyone has used a Savage action.

I imagine it's been done several times, so whatever you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get the barrel? Can you use 223Rem/5.56 cases?

Thanks in advance

I agree with the coment on consistency. Sometimes that looks very different depending upon what kind of "match" you're using as a reference. In the very short amount of time that I shot IPSC, my "match grade" (.40 s&w) loads were super accurate, made minor and I could crank t...

Another vote for the turret press. I started with the Lee Classic Cast Turret press and I still use it for small runs.

The only advice I have is to buy what you can when you can. Don't wait until you're all out of components and end up having to buy something at whatever price because of necessity.
