This is a great project. Glad to see the 9x39 finally starting to trickle into the American shooting world.

Re: Airgun suppressor

I haven't done the side by side comparison myself, but I'm told that the "nitro piston" gas spring guns are more quiet than steel spring piston air guns.

Henry single shot question

Looking at the 357 Henry single shot as a suppressor host. Anybody here have one? What's the OD at the muzzle? Thanks in advance.

Re: Scope on a rimfire?

For a good many years I had a 4x fixed magnification scope on a single shot 22. It's not the hot set up that the high speed low drag kids play with, but stuff got killed and young me was mighty proud of my iron. Anyway, 4x was enough zoom without getting too narrow a field of view. IMO, the rig you ...

Re: Made a video of a 3D printed suppressor.

In countries without the $200 tax I can see 3d printed plastic silencers making a lot of sense. Print one up, shoot starlings or whatever garden vermin 'till it wears enough to get loud, repeat as the spirit moves you.

The only way to make it quieter is to put it on an action that locks closed, like a bolt action.
Which is why Ruger should have designed the American Rimfire rifles to use 10-22 barrels. How great would that be? Really, really great I say.

A hockey stick would be better than a puck, and it's still stupid.

9x39 Wolf?

A few years back when I first heard of the 9x39 cartridge and the guns made for it, the Commie Whisper really got me excited. Now that Wolf has started importing it, I'm underwhelmed. There are two companies making AR uppers and one load available. Steel cased FMJ. Has anybody here handled it? Bough...

Re: A random thought

I see the picture your painting, but I think it would backfire. If Trump used an executive order or other such executive power to tell a bureau within the executive branch to do their job in a way we like, that would be cool...... until the other shoe drops. Might not be until the White House change...

Re: 7.62x39 subsonic recs

Virgin brass is available, or you can get loaded ammo in reloadable brass cases at Wal-Mart. Remington green box (or at least it was green last time I bought it) is reasonably good ammo. If you want good reloading brass, USA made ammo is a great way to get it. Not as cheap as military surplus but yo...

Sounds like the rounds stay sub sonic in the shorter barrel and get up to super sonic in the long barrel. Almost certainly an ammo issue.

Engel Ballistic Research makes 7.62x39 subsonic ammo. That said, it doesn't pop up on sale for a bargain price. Ever. Your best bet is to hand load.

Re: 3D PRINTABLE AR-15 Drop-In Auto Sear (DIAS)!!!

Is there any merit to a bottle opener that could also be an emergency MG conversion device? Solvent traps aren't silencers. Muzzle brakes arent monocores. A shoe string tied to a keyring isnt a machinegun. Maybe a bottle opener isnt an MG. Back before'81 that would have been a clear and unequivocal...

Nice screen name. Did you start your career at the ATF, or did you do time with state level LE first? Made me wonder the same. It has been said, and I believe it to be true enough, that about 1 in 5 people in any "movement" are agents or informants. It's also a basic truism that the guy who ...

Re: My first Can... 2nd video attempt

That reminds me a lot of my first suppressor build. I used double spring valve retainers. I had very limited tooling. But, I had determination, and after some work, it all turned out in the end. After hearing how it sounds on your rimfires, you should be proud of yourself. https://i.imgur.com/ILLHD...

CVA Scout question

Does the barrel come off the CVA Scout pistol easily? Their site describes it as having non interchangeable barrels, does that mean it's on in a way that makes it impractical to take it off? I'm considering getting one in 357 and I'd like it threaded.
