I would'nt want to own a firearm that was used in a murder. A service rifle is different, it was used in Honor.... Correction: A service rifle was *probably* used in Honor. Some service rifles have been used to shoot unarmed people, and other service rifles have been obtained by the enemy and used ...

"low gas pressure" meaning there's less gas pressure to be diverted? it seems like on some level that low gas pressure would be quieter. Normally lower gas pressure would be better, but some silencer designs redirect some of the gas so that it crosses back through the main flow and causes...

Re: Why are there not more intregal pistols?

lol yeah or they could just make the silencer body removable for cleaning. You kinda overlooked a mojor part of that one. On a side note Why not just use a luger instead? Because if you take a fixed-barrel pistol like the Walther PPK, make it integrally suppressed with a silencer body that can be r...

Re: Why are there not more intregal pistols?

Why aren't there other calibers? Say 9mm or 45 in a pistol form? The reason I ask is that i just got done watching "Layer cake" and they use a Chinese 67 type pistol, it's a 9mm intregal suppresed handgun and it hit me. Why don't we have that? I've seen many MKII or whateverer versions of...

Area of 9mm hole: 0.1000 square inches. Area of .40 caliber hole: 0.1256 square inches. Area of .45 caliber hole: 0.1589 square inches. The .45 caliber hole is almost 27% larger than the .40 caliber hole and almost 59% larger than the 9mm hole. When dealing with area those numbers add up quick. Effi...

Also, just because you cannot register a certain frequency consciously does not mean it cant damage your hearing - just as UV light will hurt your eyes yet you can see the UV spectrum. So ultimately the safest suppressor to use may not be the quietest to the ear. Mil std may even take this into acc...

And the reason bore size is a concern is the same reason that dumping water out of a glass happens much faster than dumping water out of a bottle. It takes a longer amount of time for the gasses to force their way out of a small hole than out of a large hole.

I didn't like the part at 1:22 where the "assailant" attacks the officer with a big stick. The assailant moves in so close that he could have hit the officer on the head with his fist. The officer didn't even have to move. It might as well have been hand-to-hand combat since the weapon was...

..IIRC the shoestring is meant to hold down the sear so that it doesnt reset. Nope. The whole point of the shoelace concept is that when the shoelace is pulled properly, the shoelace is too short for the charging handle and the trigger to simultaneously rest in their forwardmost positions. When the...

Although BATFE has since reversed their opinion, at one point in time they published a written opinion stating that a shoelace with the ends tied into loops was a machinegun because the user could slip one end over the trigger, the other end over the charging handle, and achieve full-auto fire by pu...

All ammunition that is under the speed of sound is automatically subsonic. When ammunition manufacturers market their ammunition as subsonic ammo, all that means is that the manufacturer specifically designed the ammunition to be subsonic in whatever type of firearm the ammunition was designed for. ...

Walsh, I don't think you're going to be able to find an arrangement that will be approved. The biggest problem I see is that even a firing pin drop on an empty chamber has been known to measure 115dB--at 1 meter from the sound origin. That origin will be only inches from your face. I seem to remembe...

I just read about that in one of Paulson's silencer reviews. It's mentioned on the 5th page of the .PDF availabl...

Like a plastic container lid, but it still might blow a bigger hole in it. Rumor has it that there are targets so tough and so thick that even the mighty blast...
