Re: Freeze plugs have disappeared

Can't get it to order from Jegs, error comes up when I try.

I may try to form some fender washers, they are cheap if they don't work. Need to figure out a good spacer material.

Re: Freeze plugs have disappeared

I tried JC Whitney, RockAuto, Advance, autozone, ect.... no luck.

Freeze plugs have disappeared

The supply of 34.3mm freeze plugs have dried up. Got my stamp for another can and I cannot find any of the Dorman 555-104 plugs besides some rip-offs on Ebay selling a .59 cent piece for $4.59 each.

Any alternative ideas for baffles?

Re: Would this be a suppressor part?

If I understand the concept, the suppressor attaches to the barrel in the same manner with or without the part in question. Correct?? In that case, with the part having no projectile, gas, or sound waves passing thru it and being purely cosmetic, I wouldn't see any gray area to it. If you wanted to ...

Re: 9mm can: quiet on 16" but loud on 5" ?????

Your longer barrel had a complete burn by the time the round entered the suppressor. Shorter barrel is going to have the bullet moving slower but you will have more incomplete combustion which is why they tend to be louder. That was what I was guessing. Damn, I really liked how quiet the gun ran bu...

9mm can: quiet on 16" but loud on 5" ?????

Just got my stamp for my AR SBR. First thing to do is cut my 16" RRA 9mm barrel to 6" and attach my F1 silencer. I have had this can for 2 years now and has worked great on the 16". Car door quiet with 147gr, sonic crack with 115gr. First shots are a lot louder than I expected. I thou...

Re: Help converting RLL to select fire with burst trigger.

Thanks Bishop. I had read this but wasn't clear on the need to use the 2 hook disconnect or modify a regular disconnect. The picture from M60Joe's site made it clear to me.

Just time to order parts.

Thanks all.

Re: Help converting RLL to select fire with burst trigger.

jt526, Thank you very much. That is just what I needed. I had read about M60Joe's work but hadn't seen the picture. I have already milled the areas in the receiver. If you are a gunsmith with an FFL(if you are not stop now and save yourself the jail time) then your customer does NOT need to be prese...

Help converting RLL to select fire with burst trigger.

I want to clear the air first so no one thinks I am trying something I shouldn't be. I am a gunsmith that has a customer with a Lightning Link. I have helped him time it, machined his bolt carriers (5.56 & 9MM) to work with this. Of course, he has to be present while I work on it, so time is of ...

Thank you. As long as it attenuates like the $500 one, I believe I am safe. It should make it really quite, if you read the description (the thing is solid, NO HOLE). Quote from link: "B&T TP9 Dummy Supressor FOR DISPLAY ONLY, This Dummy suppressor is completely solid, you can not s...

I don't think the copper internal heat sink will be of benifit. That amount of heat will still be trapped inside the Ti without a way to quickly dissipate to the outside. Putting a copper pot inside an oven will not cool the content any quicker. Just my opinion.

So a bad person or multiples are contemplating doing malice whether against you or a target you are in the vicinity of. The bad guy sees one person with the tools to stop them, they take out that resistance first. Now, if the bad person sees multiple people with the tools to stop them, they know th...

Has square tubing ever been used for a can?

This picture has me thinking whether square tubing with alternating horizonal/verticle baffles of this type would be feesable. I suspect the strength of the square would be less than that of a circular tube subjected to internal expansion. http://imageshack.us/m/685/5803/bentbaffle.jpg Has it ever b...

Beer cap baffles for .22lr??

Greeting all. This is my first post here. I have been gleening knowledge and debating going the Form 1 way soon. Either a .22lr or 9mm AR can would be my first attempt. Anyway, here I am drinking a cold one, reading over some interesting concepts on the freeze plug route. I don't know if it was in j...
