Re: Any HAM radio guys out there?

G'Day Fella's,

Mk23, very nice and well done!

But, if it gets within 50ish meters of me, it will experience a 1 1/4oz Technical Failure!
Probably #2's or BB's!!!

Merry Christmas

Re: Looking For METRIC Die Chart

G'Day Fella's,

Gen_K, as has already been stated and also, the M in M26 is for "Metric" and 1.5 is the Pitch in this case 1.5mm!
I would usually machine the major diameter to, in this case 25.95 or 25.90mm prior to cutting the thread!!!

Hope that helps

Re: Mig or Tig ???

G'Day Fella's, Krinkov, as has already been suggested to you, Tig fusion welding is the best method of welding suppressors together! I have been designing and making "Cans" for some time now (in Australia), and my .22 Rimfire and all my Centrefire Cans are Tig welded together!!! I'll try t...

Re: Multiple threads for QA/QD mount?

G'Day Fella's, L1A1 Rocker, the flash eliminator/QA-QD mount has what appears to be a 2 or maybe a 3 Start Tread! This is basically 2 or 3 separate threads, on one part of a piece of material!!! This is nothing new, as I learnt about them when I did my apprenticeship 30+ years ago! The down side of ...

Re: Tooling for cutting Titanium???

G'Day Fella's, L1A1 Rocker, I have only recently started machining Titanium for the first time, in my 35+ years as a machinist! I asked around my younger machinist/shooting mates at the local University, and they gave me to following advice: Ti, transfers most of the heat from the task of machining,...

Especially that compact looking "Can" on the end of it!!!

So, I'd be interested to know how's the "Can" performing for you?

G'Day Fella's,

Vaeevictiss, what cutting oil/fluid are you using?
In my experience, you can get most threads cut OK (in any metal), as long as you use a good cutting Oil/Fluid and take it slow and steady!

Hope that helps

Re: Using the Ideal Gas Law to "scale down" a suppressor

G'Day Fella's, Bungie Cord, I was just wondering how much smaller do you require a suppressor to be? I'm currently manufacturing .223Rem/5.56mm suppressors/Cans that are only 4 1/2" (116mm) long , 1 1/2" (38mm) in diameter and 3/4 of a pound ish (360 grams) in weight. These dimensions are ...

Re: Could This Product Be Useful for Cans?

G'Day Fella's,

Historian, Never Wet certainly looks to be a very useful product!
I wonder how well it copes with the heat of a firearm?
If it has a high temperature rating, it would be a great way to stop firearms, reloading dies, etc etc etc from Rusting!!!

Thanks for the heads up!

G'Day Fella's, Just a couple of things about lathes etc. Not all lathes are capable of cutting a thread. It's not just a matter of sticking the barrel in the lathe, and machining and thread cutting. You have to set the barrel up to get the bore axis running true and not just at the muzzle! There are...

Re: Rem700 MRL in .338 Lapua Mag

G'Day Hatchet Joe,

Thanks for that advice!

What I am trying to find out is if the M/Brake, is threaded on?
I can see a joint just back from the actual muzzle, on the Barrel/Brake junction.
I want to develop a "Can" for this cartridge and well do I need to say any more!

Rem700 MRL in .338 Lapua Mag

G'Day Fella's,

I recently purchased to above Remington rifle and was wondering if any body here, has removed the factory muzzle brake from it?
If so, did the muzzle thread have Loctite applied to it?

Thank you for any personal experience or knowledge on this subject!
