Re: Want to build a 2" OD 5" length form 1 for an AK
Since you have a 6" bbl, have you thought of using pistol powders to reload? Or do you only use commercial/surplus ammo? If you use quick burning VV powders you can combust during the 6" to prevent excess heat generation in the can. The minimal barrel volume would also mean quicker pressu...

Re: Want to build a 2" OD 5" length form 1 for an AK
CL, what do you think about a coaxial design inside of the larger OD tube? You could fit more baffles, in the range of 1.5-1.17", and they'd be lighter and easier to machine. The blast chamber would benefit from the added volume gained by the coaxial design. I was drawing up a sketch similar t...

Re: Want to build a 2" OD 5" length form 1 for an AK
Not being sarcastic at all. It's a tough barrel length because of gas cutting and the heat generated by still burning powder. A turned and bored piece of 17-4 tube with inconel 60* cones and spacers mig welded should hold. You need to build it like a tank or it will be a coffee table conversation sta...

Re: Want to build a 2" OD 5" length form 1 for an AK
I would not limit the suppressor to 2.00" in diameter.A 3.00" x 5.00" tube would look good and help you with the problems of running a 6.00" barrel. You will need as a minimum of 17-4 or inconel for building materials. Two or three ported cones that are on the thick side is a star...

Re: Want to build a 2" OD 5" length form 1 for an AK
Why not use the SD tactical 5.6" D cell tube? I know it's not a full 2", but I doubt the difference will be significant given you're not looking for Hollywood quiet. I've been eyeballing these as well. What is the wall thickness? Given that it's intended to go on a 6" AK, I want to m...

Want to build a 2" OD 5" length form 1 for an AK
Looking for a lead on where to find a 5" tube with 2" OD and think walls in either SS or TI. Preferably one that already comes with internal threads. This will be going on a Century C39 with 14x1 threads. I would prefer to use a break similar to the SD tactical http://sdtacticalarms-com.3d...

Re: kwikrnu makes TTAG, Open Carrying A Rifle In a Bullet-Pr
Just saw this in the gun blog and rushed over here to see if there was a thread on it yet. This one might have been a bit too much. How do you mean? Too much from the cops, or too much from Kwikrnu? I don't like the assumption that a silencer is illegal until it's proven otherwise. In the automotiv...

Can there possibly be a group buy for the b4l individuals of AAC lowers? One per customer ONLY available to the b4l crowd at a semi reasonable price. I already have 3 AAC cans and feel incomplete without an AAC marked lower.
If not, does anybody (employees maybe) have one they want to sell?

2 of my 3 mounts are tight one allows for slight movement. Not enough to really worry about though.Jack_Bauer wrote:With all the talk about the 51T mount and a bit of a wobble I got mine out and tried to move it on the mount and was tight as a tick on a hound dog so I don't know what the big deal is.

Will the rifles come with 51t or 90? Can we get some more pics of them? Which will be the first distributors with them?

Re: How important is clocking the blackout
Good to know. Torch it for a little bit. Makes it a bit easier to remove it after loctite/rockset loctite, yes, rocksett not so much. Rocksett is very heat resistant (up to 2015 degrees F) It is water soluble and it's not insanely strong (unless you paint it on) I have never needed to use heat (or e...

The new blackout fh that has a little extra meat in the back will clear just fine. The brake or the older blackout fh will not. I used a spacer only to time it correctly.

I vaguely remember hearing from others that there used to be canned whiskey in Iraq. I think it was called Three Kings or something.
