A lot of SOCOM went to Surefire (makes me chuckle at the AAC ad in magazine that compare welds to a different can that resembles a Surefire).

My guess is that Surefire had a bit more to offer in the design and possibly lowest bidder

In Texas, you can use silencers and SBRs on certain game. I am sure other states are the same, but may differ.

In Texas, you can use SBRs and silencers on pigs, but not seasonal game such as deer.
I am not sure about exotic animals such as Axis deer, and rams.

I had my special run lower engraved on the left side above the fire control group. Now that I think about it, I should have had it engraved on the barrel where it could be easily seen. But oh well, I doubt I'll ever sell it anyway.
