Aerogel in suppressor paint/cover

Interesting.. From the Shot show, Radical Firearms mentioned for their M240 suppressor, they have Aerogel as part of the coating. I think they might have a patent on usage but I haven't read the patent yet. Just thought it was interesting since this would prevent the paint from burning off.

Re: Well AAC is up and running again.... For now

Old AAC service was good..

Glad they are up and running. It was one of my favorite companies.. but it doubt it would have the same feel of old.
Good thing is that now AAC suppressor mounts prices will drop back to normal.

Re: M4-2000 6.8 screw up

Don't feel bad.. I can see how you read it as both.

Usually I make it a practice to check diameter of opening and if it is aligned properly (bad threads can give baffle strikes)

Fortunately for you it could have been a more expensive learning experience.

I picked up a MP5 RAS.. Something I wanted for years. Love my Surefire rail, but the RAS is more appropriate for my SMG.

Definitely no crush washers as previous person stated, they may crush unevenly and you would get baffle strikes..

Re: Cure for 51t wobble - O-ring?

If the suppressor wont fully engage the final tooth fully and backs off to cause wobble, I've heard of guys using some fine emery cloth or a stone on the mating surface of the mount to take off a few thousandths and get the last tooth to engage. I did it and it works great... added bonus it didn't ...

Re: AAC Ti-Rant 9mm...

Good thing that JB Tactical is making adapters. I picked one up and it's a pretty quality part. It's basically made up of the SilencerCo Octane 3 lug adpater and their own adapter to match the threads of the TiRant and the Octane 3 lug. It's a bit pricy but workmanship looked like it matched the set...

Re: AAC Ti-Rant 9mm...

I hope those of us that bought Ti-Rants over the years with the promise of a 3-lug mount will at least get thrown a bone... I would not have thought of AAC as a company to forget their old customers in favor of new ones... I know that ATF called the part they made got labeled as a NFA part which is...

Santa, what does LW mean? If I'm assuming what your asking is right.. LW is "Light Weight". It was the release before the EMR. Basically it's an EMR without with a standard trigger guard, and not the KAC combat version. Also if I recall correctly some of the early LW were released with th...

Mike,
Will AAC sell the TiRant with the 3lug piston as a set?

When do you think you would get a outcome on the 3lug piston being a sellable adapter?

Thanks.

If you're playing the NFA game and worried about a $200 stamp you're in the wrong stadium. Pinning a silencer to a single rifle makes NO sense at all. Unless you are in any of the states that forbid SBR's and you want that rifle suppressed. That's why I said "Unless there is some reason that y...

Willmaker works fine from my experience. Now no guarantee it will cover all the details that are required by your state, but it will get the job done to get it to you. As for LLC, I personally wouldn't go that route. It's like a slow bleed that wouldn't be worth it unless you like paying the state t...
