Re: Finding an antique unregistered suppressor
^^ That sort of s--t with the ATF makes my head explode. They could find Dillinger's minty Colt Thompson and still want to cut it up. History is history, and should be preserved. How many freaking gigantic warehouses are sitting empty this very minute on some of our military bases that could hold h...

Re: Finding an antique unregistered suppressor
Dunno how relevent this would be, but a while ago I was at the Intrepid Air and Space museum...that's that aircraft carrier in NYC they converted into a museum of military hardware...and they had an example of some extremely rare machine gun back from the 20's sitting in a tank of water on display. ...

Suppose we wanted to experiment...
Let's just say we have a legally transferred and registered to us silencer that's easy to take apart and has a hell of a lot of empty space inside it begging to have a few more baffles put in (cough cough YHM Cobra cough). Now suppose we have a few washers we picked up at Home Depot that we're inter...

Re: Oh No! They Are Back Again!
Of interest to this site there is often mentioned the "Red Jacket Suppressor". Have I missed any description, Db ratings, or reviews of one? Is its design a K, Omega, car body washer, or should we assign it, out of some semblance of good manners, the Greek letter IOTA, the most insignific...

Re: Oh No! They Are Back Again!
Why the RJ hate? Actually you're leaving a lot out...I think it's hilarious that you "experts" believe everything you see on TV. Will really does know what he's doing when it comes to AK building. He was doing great work long before the TV show, and had a great reputation among those that...

Re: Oh No! They Are Back Again!
Why the RJ hate? I've only ever caught a few episodes and I'm not a machinist, but they seemed to do decent work. I'm sure there is some drama thrown in for ratings and such - but the fact they have military contracts should lend credence to their skill. Again, I've not watched many episodes - mayb...

Re: YHM Cobra M2 core upgrade
Any news as of late? Waiting on a single tool to complete the conversion. Then its a matter or scheduling it with Bayonet to meet at the range and test her out. Don't mean to be a pest, Bender, but do you have a web site or something where we can keep tabs on the status of the YHM recore project?

Time for the sheep to transform into wolves. Example, any legislator who proposes anti-Consitutional laws should have his face, where he lives, and his past history posted on a web site. Normally that would work for other issues, but in this case the characters promoting this crap are always the ex...

+1000, don't give an inch. Universal background checks will not solve mass shootings or any shootings. We should be taking freedom back, not giving it up. Once its done, it will never be un-done. THIS! This whole nonsense came out in response to the Sandy Hook shooting in connecticut, and since (I ...

Re: YHM Cobra M2 core upgrade
Does anyone know if there are any new developments on this? Yes, in the next week or so we will be testing the next cores for it. The last test was successful while we removed the first round pop we weren't driving all the baffles as much as we were hoping, some of the baffles were barely dirty aft...

Re: I have a silly question
What is the difference between a flash hider and a muzzle brake for a rifle. A flash hider supposedly reduces the amount of the flash from shooter's perspective so as to increase the visual efficiency of the next shot. A muzzle brake supposedly reduces the amount of recoil so the amount of time to ...

Re: What is the process to purchase a supressor?
Definitely not for the impatient and instant gratification types. If you can deal with spending all the money up front, waiting at least half a year(with hopefully some conjugal visits in the meantime) then you are good for NFA, if you can't handle it NFA is NOT the game for you to get into. Ditto ...

Re: YHM Cobra M2 core upgrade
For thos of us who are among the novices here, what are the legal procedures to have our 9mm YHM cobra cans recored with a better baffle design? Something tells me it's going to require more paperwork and tax stamps than simply saying "shut up and take my money"... For the consumer there ...

Re: YHM Cobra M2 core upgrade
Got some testing in today - but still have some other designs to try out so more to follow - Will say this, the work so far (thanks Bender)has been top notch. Some things in this process that had to be overcome are some very outdated YHM design elements i.e. a booster that takes up what could allow...

Re: Potential gun ban near future
So I don't want to make this into a political thread and what not. I have AR platform rifles and am very happy with the accuracy, modularity, longevity, and of course suppression. I would like to get more AR style rifles but I am happy and thankful for mine. So if AR and AK style rifles are "b...

Re: Pushing the limit on modifying a legally registered can
As I understand things: 1) If you possess elements of a NFA'ed suppressor that are not immediately able to be assembled into a complete suppressor (read, extra baffles) you are in violation of NFA law. 2) If you modify a NFA'ed suppressor in a way that changes it's mechanical dimensions, you are in...

Pushing the limit on modifying a legally registered can
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I have a chronic disease that inhibits my ability to do searches on previous threads which I call being lazy as hell... Imagine this- I have a YHM can, which has the benefit of being able to be taken apart at will. Now, after looking at some of the design...

Re: Sig P226 Conversion any good? W/ threads of course.
Just got back from the range. Fired 200 rounds through the sig .22 LR. I had 3 easy to clear jams in the first 30 rounds and 1 in the next 170 rounds. I'm writing the jams off as part of the break in period. Want a few more trips before I make a final judgement on reliability. I've got a ~25 year o...

After 7 months of federal wait, I brought my YHM SS 7.62 home today. I can't wait to shoot it, I went around giggling like a schoolgirl putting it on all the rifles that will host it. I snapped a couple of shots of it on my Mosin Nagant project sniper rifle that I just compleated last weekend. ??? ...

Re: Sig P226 Conversion any good? W/ threads of course.
I was told that the P226 conversion kit won't work on the older P226 pistols that were made in W. Germany. I'm not certain why since I was also told there was no real practical difference between the German and US made guns. I'll be able to answer that question in a bit. My P226 has GERMANY stamped...

Not to appear nosy, but is there any update to what happened? Two years ago a heroin addict broke into my house and ripped off a .357 magnum that a deceased friend gave me, which thoroughy pisses me off on many levels. I'm looking for vengeance by proxy, here.
