Re: What causes a deeper tone in a F1 can?

many factors which affect tone as you've identified. add to that, material type.
we see/hear this regularly with motorcycle canisters of similar volume but different
materials used e.g. carbon fiber, ss, titanium. (oh, B already addressed this. whoops)

Re: What about living on a sailboat with Nfa items?

mmm, doesn't work that way. you opine that if it isn't legal to own Title 2 by an individual or in a certain location, one could use a trust as a cloaking device to circumvent the legally prohibited provisions of the law. you have a skewed way of viewing law vs trust

Re: form 1 AOW

whether or not it is possible to attach a shoulder stock to an AOW comes down to the devil in the details. generally it is not, but there are exceptions. so we would really need to review the actual firearm, drawing, and specific configuration before anything definitive can be determined

Do you have a cite for this figure?
BATF publishes annual stats on categories of NFA firearms. it's more like 500k registered, so the question is how many people more than 1...2...3... etc

Oh for &^$@ sake. Everyone needs to stop overthinking this. I have a full machine shop with enough raw material to produce a Ma Deuce. Constructive intent? If an owner can put together the components he has into a legal configuration, then he is good to go. ...and I have all the chemicals necessary...

Re: Short uppers in safe with non SBR'd lowers

you're not going to find a codefied law prohibiting this but firearms case law is replete with convictions which says this is verboten. Got case citations? I'm very interested in hard evidence. Don't know if you're familiar with James Bardwell, NFA fan and now in (I believe) private practice. He ha...

you're not going to find a codefied law prohibiting this but firearms case law is replete with convictions which says this is verboten. technically, even if you store it apart, off-site, it'll still come down to the devil in the details when it comes to the constructive possession litmus test. let's...

Re: NFATCA

I feel that NFATCA believed that their good intentions would pay off and their organization would end up becoming the savior in negotiating the dissolution of the CLEO sign off. They have been quite giddy dribbling out clues of their efforts for well over a year, i.e. "...the end is in sight." Lulle...

i'm inclined to believe that NFATCA was naive and got in over their heads, with BATF sandbagging them. why NFATCA ever though the terrorist organization would negotiate in good faith is beyond me. http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=r0xhj4&s=5 In addition, NYTimes had posted and expanded on the trust an...

Is there any thing about grandfathering the NFA items you all ready have? Nothing has been posted but I am pretty certain that all trusts will have to be brought into compliance by a certain date, hard to have only some people in compliance with the NFA and others not. If they determine and pass th...

I like how they call it a loophole, but a 4473 is required to take final possession of NFA items. Unless I'm mistaken.......... What a bunch of ass clowns. Q: Is a NICS check required for the sale of firearms registered under the National Firearms Act (NFA)? No, assuming all NFA requirements have b...

Re: AR-7 / Henry Survival Rifle Threaded Barrel?

sure, i'll try to get a photo. there were different barrel designs offered as OE. mine is steel (not alum). the tapered barrel has a small enough OD that cutting 1/2-28 threads would not be wise. so a step up adapter method was used. C2 is a local guy but I won't identify him because he also is a pu...

Re: AR-7 / Henry Survival Rifle Threaded Barrel?

i wanted to maintain the ability to store the disassembled firearm parts in the stock, as designed. so i opted to forgo the bull barrel and thread the OE tapered barrel. a threaded, step-up adapter for common 12-28 size was made. the magazine's QC is poor and requires a little tweaking to allow reli...

My attorney provided a document to use to make amendments to the trust she created, back when I had it initially created. The trust it self mentions this process in some detail. SSS has great maneuverability (transitional pointability) but limited by its short magazine capacity, notwithstanding tactical reloadability factor. so you need to determine the likely environment you will be experiencing to see if it is suitable. short shotguns are viable but under certain circumst...
