Re: 762-SD or 762-SDN-6
Other than longer life on your 10.5" AR, the 'N-6 won't do too much for you other than make your wallet $200 lighter. Personally I'd go 762-SD with those hosts. The 'N-6 shines on heavy-use, especially in SBR applications. And the length savings of about an inch are great in those applications....

I have no idea of legality, but it would screw up cycling on a tilting barrel action.

Re: 762SD ok for supersonic 300BLK???
Thinking of what new uppers/calibers/setups I may "need" onc emy 762SD paperwork arrives, and the 300 Blackout is a high priority for me, especially considering a large 200+ grain pill flying subsonic to thwAPPP a coyote or pig! SOOOO, wondering if the 762SD is covered for subsonic and or...

Re: Question on Cans
best deal- Tac-16.
its not a great can, but it IS cheap, and you'll need a take-apart can in order to clean it after .22 use.
You're better off getting a dedicated servicable .22 can AND a 5.56 (or 30 cal) can for their respective uses. YMMV.

Re: Will a .45 can work on .22?
if your can comes apart for cleaning, no real problem shooting .22 in your 45 can. But it will of course be huge and heavy compared to a .22 can.
Lawmaker- As for .223 in a .308 can- that is awesome. All top manufacturers that I know of will warrant multiple calibers in cans.

Compact an subcompacts are traditionally the worst. Try a G26.doug hall wrote:What platforms should I use to test reliability of cycling. Most of what I've read indicates that the Glock is the most finicky. Calibers will be in 9, 40 and 45.

No, not at all like the 5.56.tReznr wrote:Also, when shooting full power/supersonic ammo through a 9 inch barrel with a suppressor attached is baffle erosion a concern with this cartridge like shorty 5.56 barrels? What about with a 10.3 inch barrel?

if there's no damage inside and nothing host or ammo-wise has changed, it's most likely your perception. That said, 2 other thoughts- you should still use some kind of earpro (I like SF earpro) with .223/556 suppressed. to the shooter's ear, it's still above the hearing damage level, especially cumu...

P-22's are among the worst offenders in terms of bullet instability, a free switch to a gen 3 core should fix you right up.

Re: AWC Suppressors Opinions
Thanks for the input. I do like hearing from others with differing views and insights. I am having a tough time finding one line of cans that will fit the bill. It appears that AAC comes up a lot as being reliable, quiet and, problem free. I am staying away from the QD mounts. Too many issues with ...

Re: Silencer Maintenance
take a look at your Ti-rant manual- it talks about cleaning and maintenance and doesn't mention any soap and water.
You're going to want to use a nylon brush or scotchbrite pad moistened with a CLP or an aluminum-safe solvent.

Been coveting a can for years... Bit the bullet today and placed my order. I get the feeling that there isn't much love for the YHM SS Phantom 7.62 QD on this forum but price was unfortunatly my primary concern. The way I see it, a cheapskate like myself can buy one can to use on my Rem 700 PSS LTR...

Re: what happens if booster used on a fixed barrel?
What do you use for metal stock for your bushing? Do you make it just long enough to get your threaded base of the can back on? I suppose it would take a little file work to get it so its snug with no play. the AAC ones are hard anodized aluminum and sized to have the back cap just flush when tight.

New products, especially ones done right, take a long time to bring to market. I'm sure the rifle cans will be worth the wait.

Again, color isn't the only indicator of anodizing, as it CAN be clear.
That said, I've only got a couple year window of working with AAC and it's certainly possible that some earlier baffles were not anodized.
Maybe Mers or someone official would know.

Yes, it's generally a bad idea... the booster piston/spring/and silencer body can jackhammer your threads and damage the piston threads, the barrel threads or both.

Just curious, which cans (companies & models) have you found to have no annodizing on the AL baffles? Thanks. My Gemtech Outback II for one. All the silver baffles that have been posted are not anodized. In my personal AAC pistol cans all of them were not anodized. We will be anodizing them soo...

Re: Silencer help
I know I'm going to get a bunch of s--t for suggesting this can, but the TAC-16 is a solid can. I have heard it with my own ears on a 10.5 AR15 and it sounds great, cleanable, stainless baffles, and 400.00$ or less. It is kinda heavy but its rated for full auto. I know thers tons of better out ther...
