Re: Worth the investment to suppress the G26?

Yes, I want to suppress the G26. Emilio, indeed it does shoot like a bigger gun. I shoot it just as well as I shot my 17L. My first time out I was even able to get a few 3-shot cloverleafs at 7 yards :) . David, to me it sounds completely logical to have a gun that I can very easily conceal (G26), b...

Re: Worth the investment to suppress the G26?

By versatility, I mean that it can be cleaned and thus be used to suppress a .22. But, I am primarily concerned about function, not necessarily which is the best suppressor (unless function on a g26 is what makes it better). So, with the intended loads do I need to worry about reliability as a host?

Worth the investment to suppress the G26?

I now have a G26 that is my "go to" gun for everything. I am seriously considering adding a suppressor to the weapon system. I have read just about every thread here regarding function with the subcompacts, but I wanted to get some new opinions. I am looking at the Thompson Machine Isis9 f...

Re: Subsonic .308 recoil question.

The main reason is because I want the least amount of rifle movement possible (lighter bullet = less recoil), specifically so it is easier to see the impact through the scope. A ~165gr bullet might still give me that, but I just assumed this would be easier to achieve going lighter. But yeah, it is ...

Subsonic .308 recoil question.

I have been thinking of experimenting with some 110gr-115gr bullets loaded to subsonic / near subsonic velocities (1000-1200fps), with a somewhat specific goal in mind about recoil. I decided you guys would definitely have the most experience with it. Basically, I want to make it so when I let new s...

Re: SBR and SBS on the same frame (Handi Rifle)?

Okay that's what I thought! Thank you! I've been waiting days to get that answer from two different forums :P . I only remembered tonight that you guys might know, heh. I don't have any particularly strong desire for an SBS Handi, but I figured if I could have one for an extra $95 (or less, if I buy...

SBR and SBS on the same frame (Handi Rifle)?

I have been thinking about building a SBR Handi Rifle. Out of curiosity, would it then be legal to put a short shotgun barrel on the same frame? Just thought it would be neat, heh.

My primary goal of this thread was to figure out why not to carry in the manner above, compared to the other "tac-type" options listed above. I did not find any reasons. However, I bought a 590A1 instead of a suppressor, so I no longer needed to worry about holstering with a suppressor, or...

Yeah, a square of a given minimum radius will have greater area (and thus greater gas blowby) than a circle with a given minimum radius.

Plus creating square bore holes sound expensive!

JohnInNH, I didn't know we were talking about custom barrels and guns with unlimited resources :) . If so, then yeah you are right. If he just wants to go buy a rifle and start loading subsonic rounds, then it would be MUCH easier and cheaper to do with the .223. And that is especially so if he alre...

And why is this still going? I don't know. I'm pretty well satisfied with my new holster and carry position. I am satisfied with the outcome I did say I would like to try various CC holsters, though even with a perfect one with some sort of active retention and great comfort, it would still not sol...

Yes, I am well aware of and support the "compliance principle" of bank robberies, and the reasoning behing it. I am not going to try to fend off any simple robbery attempts. But if a lone robber herds us all into an office and starts talking about executing us, I wouldn't hesitate to put o...

I already read a lot of bad things about Remington Bulk pack Golden Bullets, but they function far better than the Federal bulk packs out of both of my 10/22s. I would typically get maybe a few malfunctions per box, again through either of my rifles. Federal Champion would not go more than a few rou...

So you know by carrying even a small pistol in your pocket there is almost a 110% chance if found you will be fired at your job? Sounds like you are either uber paranoid or you don't care if you lose your job. I think I would rather ask if it is OK to carry at work and be told no and have a job or ...

I am indeed going buy a pocket pistol for work carry. My point was just that I don't have a problem with the size of the larger gun, and will still carry it everywhere except work. The main reason I haven't jumped on a new gun purchase for this purpose is I am still somewhat hesitant to carry at wor...

Thanks for the reply :) On your questions: 1) My regular CC setup is also my PT92, but yes in an IWB holster. It will conceal with anything more than a size-small T-shirt. 2) This option is really for more increased activity. With the magazine carrier and stuff, it is obviously better suited to more...

I'd imagine a Poseidon wiped, but not wet, might be a decent compromise. The wipes won't last forever, but its larger size would probably make it work decently well without being wet and having to rewet it every couple mags.

I'd just send it to any servicing company and at least if it opened up for you (since they could perhaps remake or repair the end cap if they had to damage it in removal).

Now that is DEFINITELY sweet and would have done most everything I am wanting and, in some cases, more. For hiking and camping, that would be a perfect "level-two" carry for the essentials, allowing me to carry a backpack for food and comfort items. For tactical use, it seems easily as fas...

Heh, there really are lots. How is she with recoil? With the stuff some of these guys are coming out with, you can get suppressors on pretty small pistols, which means the recoil is going to be pretty snappy! Off the top of my head, though, the most readily suppressable 9mm subcompact pistol is the ...
