Re: Quietest Host for Spectre II Shooting a Bulk Pack

The Rugers and Brownings will probly be at the top of the heap for accuracy . Some of the better 1911's may place high too . I have an MKII that i use a suppressor host . It will start malf at around 1k-1.5k shot with the suppressor . And from what I've seen on friends guns that is around the "...

Re: Suppressor on a Glock 42

I shot a 42 this past sat . I wish they had made it in 9mm . With that being said it is a locked breech .380 so it should suppress well . Adding a barrel extension ( think wather p22 ) shouldn't be too hard to do . The Nano in the OP's post is a wipe / wet can IIRC . I doubt a walther P22 barrel ad...

Re: What causes this type surface finish

Take heavier cuts . To get good finishes at .004 or so ( that is only .002 per side ) you need a really rigid machine , sharp tooling and some tool pressure . The harder the material the easier it is to take light cuts . On a decent machine I for important parts I leave 2 passes of .01 each . cut on...

Re: What causes this type surface finish

I think its a chip welding issue . Where the chip sticks to the cutting tool smearing the finish then breaks free then builds up again .

Re: What are you guys paying for NFA transfers?

$50-100 . . . Will the ATF allow a "business" to be transfers only? That would be conducting business . There have been quite a few "shops" that do that . There was one guy years ago that kept listing some MG on a site like subguns or sturm for some crazy high price . ...

Re: AAC at SHOT

Originally, there was talk about putting the serial number pm the Ranger 3's rear-most part and using a sort of sectional design to allow for future repairs without the hassle and wait of a new stamp. The new Ranger 3 pictured above seems to show the serial number on the forward section. Can anyone...

Re: Finding an antique unregistered suppressor

The only legal way to keep it from being destroyed would be to take it to a friendly local PD and have them do a form 10 on it . Then find one of the few museums that can accept form 10 items and have the pd either loan it to them or donate it .

Re: Interesting...Texas has the most silencers by far!

I've heard that a huge # of the DD's in the registry are flash bangs . They get used up but not destroyed , and every one is a DD on the books . If I had to make a wager I'd say that the large artillery shells and bombs/missiles for the mill are governed outside of the NFA under something more akin ...

how to find muzzle pressures ?

I've got a question on finding the muzzle pressure for .223 and .308 . The .223 is an ar with a 11.5 " barrel and the .308 has a 22" barrel .

anyone ever use a AL 9mm subgun can on .308 ?

I vote no to the having to proove the or take a gun ownership test . I'd be willing to submit to a class and a test in exchange for less restrictions from the gun grabbers. Give a little, get a little. (In theory at least) there would have to be some kind of regestration showing that you passed the...

N.B.C. stuff is a no go. I don't see what dropping a cloud of anthrax on a mill base would do that a load of HE couldn't do . explosives should have minamial restrictions ,and some kind of storage requirement , but I'm not sure how that could be enforced. all other firearms should be as easy as buyi...

I think the Am 180 is probly the coolest. I can think of off hand. 275 rounds of accurate fire with no recoil . it has the look and feel of a tommy but much cheaper to shoot and can be made real quiet .

I carry an AMT .380 backup everyday . mine the single action , the DA is know for having very heavy trigger pulls . an AL supresor with wipes in 9mm shot wet may work . and Al can be polished pretty decently . it does scratch pretty easily . http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i277/bobsboobs/taruswith...
