Re: Ruger 10/22 suppressor question
Radiusing and polishing the back of the bolt makes a 1022 run better with lighter ammo most of the time. It gives the bolt better leverage cocking the hammer.

Re: Long barrel vs short barrel 10/22 observations, opinions on what's next?
I wonder how different the velocity might be between the long and short barrel? Even thou they all are subsonic it seems that a higher velocity, if obtained by the longer barrel, would be louder but on the other hand shorter barrels always seem louder to the ear I guess due to still burning powder o...

O1 FFL repair suppressor?
Sorry if this has been answered before didn't find it in a search. I've had different answers to this, some say a 01 FFL gunsmith can repair machine guns and so by the same rule can repair suppressors. Others say no only a 07. Who is correct?

Re: Anyone experiment making high and low pressure in cans?
I don't post much so please excuse me for jumping into a technical thread without much introduction. I'm new to suppressor design but have done a lot of work with compensators and flash hiders. I had the thought that if the goal is to direct as much gas as possible into the reflex portion then porti...

Re: Help with lathe, 13x36 Clausing
I would save for a Grizzly gunsmith lathe. I had an old South Bend that I still love but the Grizzly is just a whole nother world and will do everything I could ever want including metric threads.

Re: 10/22 bolt buffer from Delrin
I just buy a 1/4 inch nylon bolt from Home Depot long enough to cut a piece out of the unthreaded section to make the buffer. Cheap and very effective. No need for drilling holes or adding steel.

Re: 1911 threade bull barrel
Officers ACP's come with a bull barrel although they do have a small thin bushing from the factory to avoid the Detonics patent. Replacement OACP barrels can be bought that do away with that fragile bushing and I highly recommend going that way. Actually the shorter 1911 versions at least in 45 make...

Re: Remington 1187p or Saiga 12?
The Saiga's typically do not function reliably out of the box, they are popular with certain competition shooters where the drum magazines give it a capacity advantage but they spend a lot of money and effort to get them reliable. A decent 1100 will be reliable out of the box with cheap parts availa...

Re: What determines shell length, the barrel or the receiver
It will work that way but if you plan on shooting many magnums you might buy the magnum action bar sleave as it is heavier than the 2 3\4 version to soak up some of the extra umph. It will also work fine with regular 2 3\4 shells too. The 3 inch barrels not only have the longer chamber but also one ...

Re: Supressed 20 gauge Handi-rifle barrel
Looks like a great idea. How large are the ports? Just a thought that you wouldn't want them to be large enough for one of the plastic wad petals to catch in it and possibly lodge a piece or even the whole wad in the suppressor with disasterous results when the next round is fired. I have actually s...

Re: Octane 9hd on a stock m9?
Not to be argumentive but I said nothing about the Browning locking system. Just because a pistol does not use the Browning system doesn't automaticaly make it a fixed barrel. A good example are the Hi Points for instance, they actually have fixed barrels and are built in the popular centerfire pist...

Why worry about over-penetration when at best only 30% of rounds fired by the police actually hit the intended target?

Is it possible the governing body is distracted with other issues right now and ok'd something they may change their...
