Re: Backpacks
Osprey internal frame for actual sport backpacking trips...not tactical use. Very well built but HUGE. 5600cu, if memory serves, most of which is needed for water bladders. Through hiking a week in the desert takes a LOT of water unless you've cached it ahead of time. Non-desert use, I could get by ...

Used to use BreakFree for everything. Just what the Army told me. Now it's Mobil 1. I don't know if it's the "best", but it works fine and you can't beat the price.

Re: You and 99 people VS 100,000 medieval soldiers
Absolutely no reason to kill them all. What are you going to do with 100,000 rotting bodies spreading disease? Who's going to grow the crops, shear the sheep or butcher the pigs when the skirmish is over? Just kill a few leaders in a spectacular way that can be attributed to something the medieval m...

You know: if I had any sense whatsoever, I'd just stay out of the "Nutcase Bitch and Whine Forum." However, it is sometimes mildly amusing to watch the written version of the "slow motion train wreck."

Would you agree the OP fits the general description of a Troll? He shows up once, makes inflammatory, idiotic statements, then sits back in amusement to watch the drama play out. I read his post, knew he was crazy, then decided to treat him like any other crazy guy on the street--basically, don't en...

My money's on "Crazy Lone Wolf" with prior experience with pressure cooker bombs from the Middle East. In other words: a disgruntled vet. Much like the Timothy McVeigh scenario. A relatively small IED like this could easily have been made with a double base powder like Bullseye and a homem...

Re: Senate wants to require NICS checks on internet gun sale
I work at a VA hospital...and treat a LOT of PTSD patients. Some of them are, in fact, a danger to themselves and others and probably shouldn't have ready access to firearms. HOWEVER, I'm really worried that if we lower the threshold too much for taking away weapons rights for mental health problem...

SB2...and it has a 1:16 twist. Perfect for heavy projectiles. Better choice for suppression than the 44mag IMHO. I have one and it does well with 300gr bullets at subsonic velocities.

I find it amusing that you can now be openly gay in the military...but that the Boy Scouts continue to ban homosexuals. Having never been a Boy Scout, I guess I had assumed that any boy after puberty who chose to go on prolonged campings trips exclusively with other boys/men rather than chase girls ...

You could easily remove the hard water deposits with white vinegar or CLR but hey...it's a JEEP for gawd's sake. The spots add character. My old Jeep only gets cleaned when it rains. Every time I haul my dogs, and they start obsessively licking the rubber bed liner, I remember I need to get around t...

You know, if he'd just admitted that he'd bought firearms for protection because his wife had been a victim of gun violence or even that he wanted to buy one while they were still legal I could respect that. I don't recall Mark Kelly saying guns should be banned. Their biggest push is for background...

I'm assuming Mark Kelly can pass a background check.
I'd think having your wife shot would be powerful motivation to buy a gun...or several.
