Subsonic twist rate ?
A friend if mine is looking to build a big bore airgun . He`s thinking 7.62 and bullet weight around 125 grain . He can easily get blanks as its going to be a show piece for a gun shop. 7.62 airgun blanks are easy to get but they are designed for diablo shaped pellets 44-51 grain and compared to a f...

Re: .22 rimmy tester mod
tilt the mill head and make those cones and see how it does! assuming you used a rotary. Might do if this works quite well . just don`t want to add any length if possible and angled baffles would ether make it longer or loose a chamber . aye rotary table . slots were measure roughly with ...

Re: .22 rimmy tester mod
Cheers I`ll give it a go . I was thinking of angle baffles too . angle all but the very front one as that would add more length . I`m not sure what happened to my old pictures on the old thread . the only pics missing are the barrel sleeve and the outer covering which were made from pvc waste pipe f...

You think ? I was thinking of thinning it down a bit more if this works half decent ?Capt. Link. wrote:If you thicken the web between baffles it will most likely be quieter.

.22 rimmy tester mod
Bit rough around the edges but I didn`t take too much care over its construction as its just a tester made with a pvc core just to see how it sounds. PVC doesn`t machine that nice and melts rather than cuts but it was free so good for a disposable tester. Its going on a short barreled 1022 so I kept...

Re: Easy Monocore Build
Nice work :) Ive made a few simple cores for rimmys over the last few years and found them to work just as good as far more complicated silencers . Over here rimmys are mostly shot with subs so maybe there is more benefit to complicated internals on HV ? I made a mate a full plastic rimmy mod years ...

Re: DIY Hardcoat Anodising
Are you sure you want to hard anodise type 3 ? Thats normally only used for moving parts that the cosmetic appearance doesn`t matter about . Hard anodising has to be done at low temperatures and is very hard to colour dye. All the bits you see anodised in colours is type2 anodising which is what mos...

Glad it worked well for you both :) Its like magic  thing I think that is very cool is you havn`t changed the Ti colour at all just how it reflects light 8) Another finish that looks good is shot blast then anodise . I made a .22 rimmy sub silencer using pvc waste pipe for the tube and delrin (plastic) for the core . several years later and hundreds of shots and its still working fine :) Bless our British Cousins and their innovativeness. Is it not possible to only make the search feature work for logged in members ? I would think that would get rid of 99% of spam searching. I would also encourage genuine people to join rather than lurk .silencertalk wrote: I turned search on. It now has a 120 second interval for guests.

No prob Paul :) A bit more info just in case your anodising for cosmetics make sure you clean the part thoroughly and dont touch it with your fingers before anodising . I attach the part to a piece of ti rod then wash with washing up liquid then give it good rinse off under the tap or it will show f...

Re: My first suppressor build. Done! .22lr 100% titanium
As a few of you mentioned, I am also a bit concerned about the ti to ti threads. I learned this the hard way when I was 14 (almost 20 years ago) and machined some titanium tie rods for my 250r 4-wheeler and they seized up and that sucked (I never did get them apart). Anyway, hopefully a little anti...

Thats awesome Love the spiral cones , very very cool
Worth anodising the threads on the caps and tube , Ti is very prone to galling on threads if you don`t .

Re: Made a core for a .17 hmr
Tried it today and pretty pleased . couldn`t do a decibel test as I didn`t have the time to travel to somewhere quiet an open but I did a video of a couple of shots :) Muzzle blast was well tamed but can`t do much about the supersonic bullet. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/nutshot-uk/th_hmr...
