Re: Should I Form 4 or Trust? Bunch of questions...
Notary is not required to amend your trust. And you don't have to inform ANYONE. You can add a trustee by adding their name in pen if you like, as long as you sign and date it. Best way is to create an amendment. Just add a sheet of paper. Give it an amendment number or letter. And specify the addit...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
"Thou shall not suffer a witch to live." (Ex. 22-18). I actually give them a free ride on this, but not on the drownings in colonial times, or on the whole Harry Potter/The Golden Compass thing. Who knows if what they viewed as a witch 2100 years ago is the same thing we call a witch toda...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
Okay, too interesting to stay away. Bluabart said: Whether that turns out to be something we didn't know about energy or our universe, or it turns out to be a supremely powerful being, I don't know. I'm fairly certain it is one of those two possibilities. I'm leaning towards the former, you're leani...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
I'm going to bow out of further discussions on this thread. To us, our banter sounds like this: "This is interesting. I wonder if? How do you think this happened? Why would someone believe that?" But to many Christians, it sounds like this: "You are such an idiot! I hate God! There is...

Re: 10/22 vs bolt gun
Held the bolt on my 10/22 and MKII yesterday with no problems. The MKII is surprisingly easy. The 10/22 stings a little when held between the index and middle fingers of the left hand. For that weapon I would probably go with the parachord method or a commercial bolt lock if I wanted to do this ofte...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
Illuminated_one, I think you missed Blaubart's text that said "Actually, you said the cycle is finite. We simply said cycle or cyclical. I postulated that if it is cyclical, it could be either finite or infinite. I said I don't know, which is something people of faith don't seem to be comforta...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
An infinite cycle of expanding and contracting universes is perpetual motion. You were the first to introduce the possibility of an "infinite cycle" into this discussion. Selectedmarksman and Islander mentioned cyclic, you made the leap to infinite and perpetual motion. The seasons on Ear...

I know they make a device to keep the bolt from moving on a 10/22 when you shoot it I'm curious. Do you have a brand name or a link? Here is a fancy version, that you can engage/disengage easily: http://www.silencerresearch.com/jg_bolt_lock.htm There is an older thread here with alternative methods...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
Illuminated_one reminded me. Regarding the Kalam Cosmological argument, how is God exempt? If everything that exists must have a cause, what was God's cause? If you say God existed infinitely, why go the extra step? Could not all existence (all universes) be infinite? Remember the premise is "...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
An infinite cycle of expanding and contracting universes is perpetual motion. Actually, in hindsight, I can think of an infinite cycle. One that seems to have no end. God exists. God does not exist. Does too. Does not. Uh-Huh. Nuh-Uh. Uh-Huh. Nuh-Uh. Uh-Huh. Nuh-Uh. Uh-Huh. Nuh-Uh. Uh-Huh. Nuh-Uh. ...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
An infinite cycle of expanding and contracting universes is perpetual motion. We know that there are no perpetual motion machines, no matter what scale we try to imagine them at. Entropy implies that the universe had have a beginning. Every system decays, there is constantly less usable energy. We ...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
This is a fun thread :D Let the fallacies begin: Kalam Cosmological argument. 1. Whatever begins to exist has a cause. 2. The universe began to exist 3. Therefore, the universe has a cause. As scientists and mathematicians are unsure what happened approaching the Big Bang, we cannot be certain that...

Re: Proof of the existence of God set down on paper
All 3 are logically valid. If you want to deny the conclusion you have to deny one of the primacies. Kalam Cosmological argument. 1. Whatever begins to exist has a cause. 2. The universe began to exist. 3. Therefore, the universe has a cause. Going from that, one can then determine that the first c...

QUESTION: Anyone every hold the bolt with their thumb? Ever tried it wth a Ruger MkII pistol? Do it all the time with my mark 3, and I assume you could do it without any problem on a 10/22. I know they make a device to keep the bolt from moving on a 10/22 when you shoot it, essentially giving you single shot rifle that you reload by manually cycling the bolt. Nice report, John. Hope you can get some POI and spread data. I shot 470 rounds in my tests, but need to reshoot the pistol sets since I screwed those up! Haven't cleaned the can and probably won't for another 500 rounds.

Re: Prodigy POI shift and bullet tumble on Ruger Mark II
Shot 5 kinds of ammo today, both with pistol and rifle. I'll have to do a reshoot with the pistol due to problems with how I shot. First, I shot top bulls unsuppressed and bottom bulls suppressed (four bulls per target). The suppressor shifts POI up, so my suppressed shots mixed with my unsuppressed...

Re: Trust - Do you get what you pay for?
Considering the requirements for forming a valid trust in most states, $90 is about right. The high dollar folks do add some value, including language in the trust to help with facilitating legal transfers if the grantor dies. But you have to do the same stuff whether the language is in the trust or...
