Re: Maglite Suppressor?

I'm really interested in this topic. I was thinking of building one for 7.62x39mm. I thought that if I build it with a large (maybe 2" long?) first chamber and a blast baffle made from a 3/8" or 1/4" thick stainless washer, then set the remaining baffles (SS freeze plugs) like this: |...

Nobody is saying that Gemtech intended the result they got, but that was the result, hence it was named after them. Keep posting your irrational second hand internet rumor hatred for AAC all it does is drive more people away from what ever product you do promote. Cause you come off as an idiot. Tha...

The only problem with your Gemtax comment is that the ATF did not send out a decision, Gemtech asked for a clarification on an issue that had been done since the dawn of silencers and this seeking of clarification meant that no one gets to replace silencer bodies anymore. Any you could not stop the...

Oh I thought you insinuated that AAC sued a customer, who they sued was someone claiming to be in the industry posting under internet handle on many forums with the sole purpose of trying to discredit the company with supposed facts that were incorrect. Much like you, no real identity, speaking of ...

I have never known any silencer manuf. to sue their customers? Please provide details where any company has done this? A guy was sued for making unsubstantiated claims about AAC and Fabrique Nationale and a Military Contract (I believe again, recollecting), I don't recall it much else other than th...

Sid, Rsilvers is a self proclaimed AAC tester. Thankfully, he is very permissive in what is said on here. I don't post often, but I've read enough to know that there is a definite bias towards AAC here. I'm not sure about all the details of the various suits going on, and I'm really not sure I want ...

I use CCI Standard Velocity in my 10/22. It functions just as well as Federal bulk pack, but stays subsonic. The Remington Subsonic functions okay for me but they go supersonic once or twice in ten rounds. Accuracy is snot, too. ETA: the CCI Standard Velocity is stupid quiet, too. With the bolt held...

If your registered suppressor tube is damaged, you have to buy a new one and pay the $200 NFA tax. Prior to a pissing contest, damaged NFA suppressor tubes were being replaced by the original manufacturer without requiring a new Form 4. It's called the GemTax because Gem-Tech pushed the issue at en...

I only HAVE two cans right now. A Surefire FA556AR and a Gemtech Outback II. They have both exceeded my expectations and perfectly fit my needs. I plan to get a pistol caliber can next and a 7.62mm can after that, but I'm waiting on a Form 1 for an SBR and the wife has been wanting a Serbu Super Sho...

I have fired a KAC and I own a Surefire, but there was a long time between when I shot the KAC and when I got the Surefire. To my recollection, there was very little difference in sound. Those are the only two 5.56mm cans I've fired, but it seems to me there isn't an incredible difference in sound b...

The manual on my Surefire FA556AR indicates that it can be fired with a small amount of water or saliva in it to further reduce sound signature. I have tried it with no ill results or any noticeable difference in volume.

New to this forum

I've been lurking for a while around here. Lots of great info. Figured I'd introduce myself and post a couple pics of my toys.
