Re: Liberty Essence
I have had an Essence for several years and have been very happy with it. As you stated, the mono core is easy to clean.

Re: Gemtech Subsonic .22 Ammo?
Thank you all for the replies. A good friend and dealer will be participation/instructing in a camp this fall and may have access to a large amount of the ammo, so hopefully I can get a little for myself.

Re: Gemtech Subsonic .22 Ammo?
dtom,
Thank you very much for the constructive answer to my question. Some think that CCI may make this for Gemtech. I have access to a lot of it for a reasonable price, so will go ahead and get some.

Gemtech Subsonic .22 Ammo?
Does anyone have any experience with this ammo? Curious about its reliability and ability to cycle suppressed pistols.
Thanks for any information on this ammo.

Re: Help me pick a dedicated home defense can
I have a FNX 45 Tactical and it is great with my Octane 45 HD and my Ti-Rant. Hard to pick a winner here, but the Octane is easy to clean.

Re: 22 suppressor help - to element or not.
I have an Element 2, a SS Sparrow, a Liberty Essence, and a SWR Spectre II. Of all of them the Sparrow is the loudest on a pistol. Very noticeable first round pop. The Element and Spectre are both very good and the Essence is almost as good as them. I have not used them of rifles.

Re: Help me get the right can for my .22 rifle
I have a Spectre II, Essence, Sparrow ss, and Element. The Sparrow is my last choice of these. It is good on a rifle, but loud frp on pistols. The Element is great on pistols, but not as good as the others on rifles.

I sent my Element I in for the upgrade. It only took about a week to get it back and I am very pleased with the results. AAC is really taking care of their old customers, and I appreciate it.

Re: What .45 to suppress and with which suppressor
Anyone do a SIG P220? Am waiting for the Octane 45 to clear and have made arrangements to use a 1911 and a P220. I have a P220 Dark Elite with factory threaded barrel. While I have not used it much it seems like a good host. The only can I have used on it so far is my Ti-Rant. Will have to try my O...

Re: What .45 to suppress and with which suppressor
I have numerous .45's and some of those have threaded barrels. In my experience, the Remington R1 Threaded barrel 1911 is the best for the money. Mine shoots as good as my Baer, Dan Wessons, and Colts. Better than most of them actually. I have an AAC Ti-Rant .45 and a SWR Octane 45 HD. Both are grea...

Eastern-hunter,
I am sure that you will not be disappointed. I didn't get to shoot as much as I would have liked, but it was fun and validated the purchase.

Fired Octane 45 HD and Ti Rant 45 Today
Thanks to Silencershop for the piston I was able to take my Ti Rant 45 and Octane 45 HD and shoot a little today. Host was a Colt Combat Elite with Storm Lake barrel. Ammo was Winchester 230 gr fmj. All were fired dry. Only got to put 50 rounds through them, but the consensus was that they are so cl...

IB, I don't know about that. My dealer fills out the Form 4's. This one worked, so I guess since they merged it is OK.

Re: New Octane 45HD and Can't Use It
Thanks for all of the constructive replies. I have contacted SWR and my dealer has contacted the distributor. Both have responded in a timely manner and the short answer is they are back ordered and there is no estimate on availability as of this time. I will contact Silencershop and see if they hav...

Re: New Octane 45HD and Can't Use It
I guess that you know everything about everything and have heard about everything that has ever happened. If you don't believe me put your money where your insinuations are. How much are you willing to bet that I don't have it and the approved Form 4? Pics or it doesn't exist. Sure. How much you wa...

Re: New Octane 45HD and Can't Use It
I have never heard of them doing a credit like that, the system is not setup to do that. The tax is tied to a serial number and when it is cancelled the system automatically refunds the check. I just spoke with NFA Branch and they have never heard of that happening either. Bizarre[/quote] Just for c...

Re: New Octane 45HD and Can't Use It
The only thing that is off is that I do not have the piston. Form 4 approval was fairly short because I cancelled another application that was ready for approval last year. They kept the check and processed this one in its place.

New Octane 45HD and Can't Use It
Problem Solved---Silencershop has them is stock and I just ordered one, so should have it in a few days. Still aggravating though. I received my approved Form 4 for a new SWR Octane 45HD about 5 or six weeks ago and still cannot get a .574 x 28 piston for it. The piston was ordered and paid for with...

Re: Newb looking for a multi gun suppressor
I would recommend a SWR Octane 9HD if you want one that will be good on 9mm and .22. You should have a user serviceable one for .22, and it is best for 9mm too. I would discourage getting one that will handle 5.56mm as it will be big on the pistols. Dedicated .22 would be an AAC Element, SWR Spectre...

Re: newbie question
Unfortunately, the sonic crack of .223 and 30 - 06 would be quite noticeable 100 yards away from the rifle. The muzzle blast is not insignificant either, but is greatly reduced from non suppressed firing. Subsonic .22 would be very quiet.

Sneaky Pete Holsters - Bad
I ordered a Sneaky Pete Concealment holster and belt about six weeks ago. It is a square case worn on a belt like one for a large cell phone. The one that I ordered was too big, which was my mistake, but what really disappointed me was the quality and utility of it and the belt. Really just junk. I ...

Re: Thinking about a Tirant 45S, but have questions
Unless you really have a need for the shorter Tirant S I would go with the full size version. It is quieter and not too much larger. As mentioned above, get a dedicated .22 can.

Re: Newbie question
I definitely second the recommendation to get a dedicated .22 suppressor.
For your 22/45 I would get either an AAC Element or a SWR Specter II. I have both and they are great on all of my .22 pistols.

Just Got a Remington R1 Threaded Barrel
Recently got this from my dealer and was able to strip it clean and lube the other day. I have several Colts and Dan Wessons and have had several semi customs, and I feel that this compares nicely to the Colts and not far from the Dan Wessons. Very well fit and finished. The trigger on mine is quite...
