Re: Ported 7.62x39 to stay subsonic???
I don't think you could ever port it enough to get it subsonic. Think about it this way....How short would an unported barrel have to be to keep it subsonic? I would guess even a 3-4" barrel would be supersonic with a factory 2300 FPS load. There's a guy online with a 4-1/2" barrel claimi...

Re: Blew up a can today
Im a pipe welder and an AWS Certified Welding Inspector. I doubt it was the shielding gas. Sounds like a penetration issue to me... TIG is your best bet on a weld like this. If your stuck with MIG, I would make your end cap stick out .125" so you can weld a little hotter w/o blow through. This ...

Re: Ported 7.62x39 to stay subsonic???
Scratch that idea... I guess I will just use the suppressed sten I'm building...
And load subsonic ammo for the pistol build...
Anyone know what type of baffles and where work best on a sten?

Ported 7.62x39 to stay subsonic???
Before you tell me how crazy this is, hear me out... Let's say I have a bunch of ak's already... And wanted to build a suppressed ak pistol just for fun with a 8 or 10" ported barrel... I would have to have several 1/8" ports close to the barrel, and an integral type suppressor tube. I wou...

Re: NEXT UP: Semi-Auto Vertical mag Suppressed STEN
I was thinking about just running 147gr but I will mostly be shooting WWB 115gr Wally world special. I'm really more concerned with noise then I am with knock down power. I was planing on using M baffles, what works best with the sten? How many? And Where? It will be a ported 8" barrel with a b...

NEXT UP: Semi-Auto Vertical mag Suppressed STEN
[*]Im thinking my next suppressor will be a Integeral STEN MK III... I was going to build a sterling, but Im thinking it would be easier to build a Semi-Sten w/ vertical mag, and make the tube a little longer, add some baffles, port the barrel one hole at a time until a 115gr 9mm FMJ is subsonic. Th...

Re: Red Jacket 12ga Suppressor baffle pics...
Thanks for the pic! I dont belive in springs for a rifle can! That is for sure!!!! After watching the son of guns show, Maybe its just the editing, but it sure seems like from Idea to product there is very little R&D that goes into a red jacket project, but like I said, Maybe its just the editin...

Red Jacket 12ga Suppressor baffle pics...
anyone know what the inside of a Red Jacket 12ga suppressor looks like? Im trying to design a Form 1 can, and am having trouble finding any pics of baffles... I would assume it is just a ported barrel extension, with baffels. I would like to know how many, and any info about the porting... Thanks-

Re: MKIII Integral questions
David Hineline, Im glad you enjoy your suppressor, I understand you must justify your very expensive purchese. I dont know why you would assume I will be buying/ building this from the home depot. I have seen at least 40-50 thread on can's internals, I have only seen 2-3 Integral baffle/core setups....
