WTB: Surefire SOCOM 762Mini

Haven't found an available black SOCOM 762Mini through my usual channels. If anyone's got a line on one at a fair price, feel free to PM me. Thanks!

I can't help you with your gap issue, however can commend you on your rifle choice. It's a great practice rifle. You can work with it to simulate 308 and other long range fire on a much shorter range. Have fun!

Isn't it obvious? You put the scope cap on the end so that enemies will look down the barrel.

Re: Lost trust

As a practicality, if you're not seeking to ADD something to the trust, why does it matter that you can't find the original document? If you have the tax stamp, it's legal. This would be true if I taken the individual route. But this silencer may only be possessed by trustees of the trust referred ...

Re: Shorty 5.56 cans

That looks like a great size and like the way to backs up the barrel rather than just hangs. For the price, it would be a no-brainer. Your pictures suggest that it somehow mounts to an A2. Is that a wrong assumption? Is it a simple thread on? EDIT/UPDATE: Answered my own question. It needs its own m...

Sucks you got a shipping snafu. Don't judge the product by the error. They make a good product. Having to return is inconvenient, but should be worth it in the end. I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Re: Significant point of aim shift

If I recall when I dialed up the scope it was 2.3 MOA worth of clicks. Being in site-in mode, I was just happy to be hitting paper. When I put the can on, these little dots started showing up on the bottom of the target. What the…? :)

Re: Significant point of aim shift

Thanks folks. Very interesting details. My YHM is older and NOT the Ti model, so it is heavy. The barrel is fluted. I'm liking the barrel harmonics/vibration concept as I had a hard time thinking that the can weight alone would "flex" the barrel. As always, great info here. Thanks again. Additional ...

Significant point of aim shift

So, I had my first substantial (to me) point of aim shift suppressing a 308 yesterday. I was sighting in a new 308 and, after setting the optic, put a can on. It resulted in a 5" drop in target impact at 200yds. Without the can, the zero returned and I was able to reproduce the effect in groups swit...

Best can for .450 Bushy?

Only dedicated can I can find is a Bowers Versa. What's the best can for this round? (Running a 16" upper.)

6.8SPC Suppression

What are folks using/can recommend for suppressing 6.8SPC? And since I shoot it infrequently, perhaps a size up to allow for multi-caliber use?

Thoughts from resident geniuses appreciated.

Re: Piers Morgan:Bible and the U.S. Constitution are "inhere

If you ever needed an example of the people that inspired the Founding Fathers in the 1770's, look no further. Accent and all. As an aside, Henry the VIII thought the same way. The Catholic Church didn't like his marriage track record, nor his nasty habit of beheading. So he created the Anglican Chu...

Re: fienstein wants ar,s under nfa

Speaking of big money, I'd be very interested to see the CBO score the AWB as it will be proposed. For instance, every "grandfathered" firearm would become an NFA item. That's, what, about 300 million guns?? We can't get a suppressor through in 6 months and there's only about 50K annually, give or t...

I won't speak for the rightness or wrongness of brandishing, however I can say I've heard and read more than one self-defense instructor who has advocated revealing in advance of a perceived bad situation to avoid a conflict. The logic goes like this: someone who is threatening you is not the sort t...

Personally, I'm considering a sling. Sling stones lobbed in a high trajectory can achieve ranges out to 400m. The current world record is 477m. And they are absolutely silent!

Re: Help with refuting.

Most laws are not written in the interest of "society" but rather in the interest of one faction or another within society. Being "illegal" therefore is not a very good test of what is or is not self defense. Clearly, I haven't reviewed the cases or research, however I would argue on face value that...
