Re: Shooting at my school this morning.

Campus lifted the lockdown about an hour and a half ago. The school is still closed for the day, though. They had SWAT teams go through and check all of the surrounding buildings, and never found anyone else, as far as I know. I think the second gunman reports were spawned out of conflicting descrip...

Re: Shooting at my school this morning.

I'm thinking/hoping the news screwed that one up, and that it was a semi-auto. Anyone these days who has a machine gun and intends to use it for malicious purposes probably wouldn't go through legitimate procedures to get the gun in the first place....but I guess you never know. My gut tells me what...

Shooting at my school this morning.

Apparently some guy walked into the main library on campus at UT Austin about an hour ago and opened fire. Luckily he was either a shitty marksman or didn't really want to physically harm anyone else, because reports are saying he fired "10 to 15 shots" but the only person he killed was hi...

Re: High Power with stock...&22 kit

Unfortunately, I think Homemade is right. I got bored and looked it up on the ATF website...under thier C&R FAQ's: " The definition for curio or relic (“C & R”) firearms found in 27 CFR § 478.11 does not specifically state that a firearm must be in its original condition to be classifie...

Those birds are cool, Hush. I never had much experience with woodworking, but I enjoyed metalworking a lot during the year I took of it in high school. I built some cool stuff in there...wish I still had access to all the equipment (not to mention the free material). I have a few things that I used ...

No, but this one was. Giger is one of my favorite artists. Jeremy Damn, that is awesome too. When done well, Giger-inspired stuff is always kickass. Especially bio-mech tattoos. Speaking of which, I don't think I'd really consider getting tattoos a "hobby", but I do like them. Only two so...

Obviously, everyone on the board can put down "shooting sports" near the top of their list of hobbies.

Anyone have any other recreational interests? I play the drums...not nearly as often as I'd like to anymore, but I do still play.

Re: ATF strikes again.......

I read the first line and knew whoever was involved had to be screwed.
In Federal District Court on July 20, 2010, the ATF won a conviction from an Austin jury that defies logic and reason.
Unfair trial to begin with, if you ask me.

Re: Can I AOW a shot gun in Indiana

I also am not sure about the legality of AOW's in Indiana. Keep in mind, though, that if you take a shotgun with a stock and install a pistol grip and then cut the barrel down, it will NOT be an AOW--it will be an SBS. To qualify as an AOW, it has to come from the factory with a pistol grip (i.e. Mo...

My dad just had the stock on his old Remington 700 .270 refinished by these guys. They did a hell of a job, and for only $100! Originally the rifle had a moderately beat up old laminated wood stock; now it has a flawless waterproof digital desert camo finish. I'd recommend these guys to anyone who w...

Re: wanted to share my sr-556 with my new 7.62SD with everyo

I have an EOTech on my SR-556. It works well for me out to about 100 yards; haven't tried shooting past that with it yet, but I imagine it'd be a little difficult since the EOTech is basically just glorified iron sights (until I get a magnifier, anyway). It is definitely a front-heavy rifle. To bala...

I guarantee you that if you went out to a Global Warming protest with a petition to ban ALL CO2 emissions, you'd get 95 out of 100 people to sign it. You could then kindly ask them to stop breathing. I saw something like this done on TV once; I think it was on Penn and Teller's "Bullshit!"...

I played the original once (Red Dead Revolver). It is cool... just like GTA but with a western theme. You steal horses instead of cars, and all of your weapons are from the typical spaghetti western arsenal (single action revolvers, lever action rifles, etc).
