Re: accuracy issues with 338 suppressor
I just threw the targets away showing key-hole bullet holes. I took the can apart and checked every baffle carefully, couldn't find a bullet strike anywhere. I stuck the suppressor in the lathe reamed it to .265" which was the original hole size anyway. Very little material was removed. The key...

Re: AAC M42000 rebuild
What difference does it really make. The guy just asked a simple question about the guts of a m4 2000 and he gets the 3rd degree. This forum is too much about paying your dues and less about information. This BS is not limited to just this post, it happens every time someone from the "outside&q...

For good enough, chuck up a tenth indicator, remove the center in the tailstock and spin the indicator inside the taper in the tailstock.

I cut mine 2" so I have some barrel to attach the tube to. Remember the tube needs to be attached as straight as possible.

I don't see a problem until you make it something the seller didn't advertise it to be. After all, he may live in a less oppressive country where anything is possible.

Re: First attempt at cutting a baffle
I have never liked what happened in SA. The US should have minded their own business. They have no right telling other countries how to conduct their internal affairs. This country has been in the shitter for the last 50 years and has no clue how to get out of it. Gas prices are a good example of th...

Re: aluminum can and k baffles?
there is no reason for the blast chamber in a 223 can to be 3" long (in an 8 or 9" can). the ranger2 is 6" long and gets the job done. m42000 is 6.6" long and is one of the top 556 cans that exist. That's great information, now how about telling us how to build an M42000. Now th...

Hi, I am new to silencers, no problem with machineing though. I have sent form 1 off and am thinking about what to make can and baffles out of. It will be .223 on a ar semi auto. will have threaded end caps and will be using k baffle design. I would like the ligher weight of alumium but i have no i...

Re: aluminum can and k baffles?
Why are we making cones for 223's when we could just make k's? I am perplexed as to why it's so difficult to get a straight answer here. If K baffles are quieter in a 223 then why doesn't someone just say so. It seems to be a little more difficult getting information here that should be. I read thes...

Re: 223 AR 15 suppressor
That stepped cone measures 1.150" and I have 5 inches of space to put the cones in. So the question is how many cones should I use and what should the spacing be? After looking at some of the x-rayed suppressors, it looks like I might be able to space these an inch apart, when you think?

Re: 223 AR 15 suppressor
I absolutely do not want to hijack my own topic, however back in the 80s I built my first suppressor. It was nothing more than a copy of the Mac suppressor. The next suppressor I made I changed original design by making the expansion chamber encased which allowed the barrel to be several inches insi...

Re: 223 AR 15 suppressor
Great, now if someone would just post some pictures of the baffles they are using, and someone else would just give me the dimensions on the baffles spacing I could go to work on this thing.
Does anybody have any pictures of the baffles in a cyclone suppressor?

Re: 223 AR 15 suppressor
I have a 13X40 lathe with a fair amount of tooling. I also have a vertical mill.
I will be working with new 304 stainless, 1 1/2" seamless tubing, 1 3/8" seamless tubing and 1 1/2" solid round bar.

Re: 223 AR 15 suppressor
Thanks for the input, I had read that thread and was highly impressed in the engineering and machine work. However my time is so limited it would take me a year to finish a project of that magnitude. I'm basically looking for input on cone design and spacing. I've pretty much decided that I like the...
