Sounds great but I don't have anything else suppressed to compare it to. There is a link to a youtube video I made comparing it to my AR on the Imgur site.

Re: Is there a reason there aren't any fully dimensioned prints floating around?

I personally enjoy sharing what I've learned with others about as much as I enjoyed learning it in the first place. If I had been just given the dimensions I would have to agree that I wouldnt be as proud of it as I am but like has been stated. There are many different ways to design these things so...

Is there a reason there aren't any fully dimensioned prints floating around?

Is it a liability issue? A hording of knowledge issue? A legal issue? Perhaps it's just that not many people have access to CAD software. Just curious as I'd like to share my design but don't want to open up myself to unnecessary risk. Part of me thinks it's ridiculous how everyone is always so worr...

clipped cone baffle orientation?

I've read that clipped cone baffles should have the clipped part all oriented the same way for 300 blk. Given that they're all on the same side does it matter where that side is... I.e top, bottom, 30° from the top...

welding on a can

I need to weld my can to my rifle for overall length. Can I pin and weld the tube to the end cap the same way the can is welded to the barrel?

Re: engraving location

Thank you... Does it make a difference if it is welded on yet can still be seen through a handguard like the seekins bar? Yes there is a difference, under a handguard doesn't qualify as wholly unobstructed. Why not just engrave at the end of the can and be done with it? If it's under the handguard ...

engraving location

I'm going to build an 8" can and only have 3-4" sticking out from under the hand guard. I've read that you can't conceal the engraving. Would this be considered concealment our can I just have it engraved right in the middle?

Determining thread dimensions?

I've got one chance left to make the proper threads otherwise i need to buy another tube so I'm imploring your help. I'm using an Bridgeport EZ-Path II CNC lathe and with its threading dialogue I basically just need to know the major and minor thread diameters and the thread pitch. I'm not a machini...

Boring tool recommendations?

I am an engineer, not a machinist. I am struggle getting the insides of my baffles made and have broken several tools in the attempts I've made. Could someone recommend a boring bar small enough to machine the baffle internals and hit a .368" through hole. If this person could also recommend th...

Re: Anybody have experience with a Bridgeport EZ Path II?

Thanks you for the offer but I ended up figuring out. It uses a conversational style programming method and in the finishing profile pass I had a setting wrong that indicated which side of the part the tool was on. This caused some funky moves. I should have caught it on the simulator but it was so ...

Anybody have experience with a Bridgeport EZ Path II?

While my first baffle was on its very last finishing cut on the ID the program went and did a weir plunge into the part during a rapid move which broke my boring bar and then proceeded to take somewhere around a .050" cut instead of the .010" it was supposed to. I ran the program virtually...

Re: Is there an optimum number of baffles?

Is the relationship such that the greater the pressure the larger the chambers between baffles need to be. The lower the pressure the smaller the chambers can be to offer greater turbulence via more baffles. I'm sure there's also a point of diminishing returns for the number of baffles. Is that corr...

Is there an optimum number of baffles?

I've been reading about some of the different designs people have built and I see differing ideas on the number and spacing of baffles. Right now I've got an 8" design using a 2" blast chamber, .5" in between 10 baffles. So what is more important? The number of baffles or the amount o...

Do you not bore the bullet path hole? I am having a problem finding a boring bar small enough to make it through the .340 hole with enough clearance.

Re: 300 BLK Suppressor Final Design Review

I was not going to clip the cones because then I have to deal with clocking them and didn't think the slight, perhaps imperceptible reduction in dbs wasn't with it. perhaps I'm mistaken. There is .007" clearance between the baffles and the outer tube. I did that so I could get it apart easier s...

Thank you all for the awesome amount of help I have gotten from this forum up to this point. I've got my stamp and my material in now and I want to start making chips.
