Nice! I've been slowly switching all mine to URX rails also. The URX3 rail is the best! I will post some pics once I get them finished.

Re: Kettlebell works quite well apparently

I trained with Jeff some back in the "day" at DARC and he introduced me to the kettlebells (wouldn't hurt if I actually used them some now...) anyway he is a great guy, very nice and very knowledgeable about how to train. If you get a chance to pick up any of his training videos they are w...

Re: Best Choice in .45ACP for Concealed Carry

I would suggest a Nighthawk Talon II bobtail with a set of Heinie QWIK ledge straight 8 sights...but I'm sort of biased

Dave Erickson would also make you one heck of a carry gun.

If he is considering a 1911 I would not go below a 4.25" barrel for any serious defensive carry.

Re: Gun rail lube

I like Militec, it's good stuff. Also consider Bob Marvel oil, it goes on light but it dries to a point, leaving a film that lubes well and seems to make cleanup easier.

Mobil one works good but it smells like a car engine when it gets warm.

Gunbutter is good stuff also.

Re: Best Base-Model 1911 or Kit

Springfield would be a good choice. An older Kimber without the firing pin safety. I would try to find a used one, once you start working on one your ideas will change. So a beater used one would be great for a starter and if you can find stainless that will keep you from having to worry with finish...

Re: carry sights

Heinie straight eights.

Wide rear notch, the 8 configuration IS faster at night. My groups tightend up just by changing the sights. The wide notch really works for me, it makes sight alignment easier for me.

I'm not jumping to conclusions, but I before this thread goes insane I'd like to remind everyone just what the Silencer Shoot was. AAC went out of their way to create a place where many manufacturers and NFA enthusiasts could gather and demo products. This is something they did for the good of all,...

I am not eating that burger, I don't care if big Kahuna himself made it and had a 44 oz sprite to go along with it.
